The New Adventures of TunnelVision: Reloaded

Legal Luncheon

The next morning, Jason woke up with a text from Markus, "Hey I know this is gonna sound crazy and it's early in the morning but I need to see you this afternoon"

When the afternoon came, Jason headed over to meet Markus at the local fast food joint. "Hey buddy, you're right on time. Here I got us lunch, Figured we could discuss this over some food"
Jason was intrigued, "So" Markus began, "Those guys you saw me texting yesterday are whistleblowers, me and them are going to court to expose someone for some disgusting acts behind closed doors" He finished, "Hold on hold on, slow down Markus you're dropping quite the bomb here. What are you really asking?" Jason wondered as he bit down into his burger.

"We need your father's help, we need a lawyer to represent us and help us win this case" Markus said, "What exactly are you whistleblowing?" Jason said with food in his mouth, "Well one that's gross hahaha, and second we're bringing to light a criminal project ran by TunnelVision" Markus answered. Jason choked on his food, wondering if he heard Markus right, "TunnelVision, THE TunnelVision? The same TunnelVision that made all those hit games we play?" Jason was filled with doubt, but Markus assured him, "The very same I'm afraid, You remember when we went to the arcade months ago when they were hosting a demo for their upcoming game and looking for new hires to be beta testers?" Asked Markus.

Jason nodded and Markus continued, "Yeah, well they hired me on. Things seemed normal for the first two days, then these men came out and kidnapped me on day three, trapping me in this tube and put a VR headset on me" Markus paused to eat a few fries, "They also scarred my fingertips and toes with these pin needle plugs, I've been able to hide the scars well with gloves and my mom's makeup, but I didn't hide them today to show you I am not lying"

Markus took another bite of his food, wiped his hands on his shorts, then showed the tips of his fingers to Jason. "Oh my god you weren't kidding" Jason said, "So can Mr. Darlington help represent us in our case?" Markus asked Jason, "Well my father is quite a busy man. He's currently wrapped up in some case with a total jagoff who thought it was a good idea to rob the local Barnaby's Whole Foods. Then he has to deal with some other bullshit because people are idiots in this town, however my father told me you can either represent yourself or let the court appoint you a lawyer. However if you do get them to appoint you a lawyer you'll still have to pay legal fees if you win"

Markus thought long and hard about what Jason was saying, With every bite of his chicken sandwich came another thought. Eventually he finished his sandwich and came to his conclusion. They were going to represent themselves in court. "I'm sure we'll do fine representing ourselves. I'm confident we have good enough evidence to present to the court that can help us win" Markus said, "Well I'm no legal expert but if that works for you then go for it, I'll be there in court to watch it happen. I want to see this all come to light and fall down for them" Jason said.

The two friends discussed some more and then finished their meals, shaking eachother's hands and saying goodbye for now. The two friends went home to plan what was going to happen.

Even if they lost, Markus still wanted the world to know what sick and twisted plans TunnelVision was doing in the dark. it was all going to come to light, and they could not fail.
