The New Adventures of TunnelVision: Reloaded

Divide and Conquer

Everyone was heading to the new base that was established from a previous raid, Settling down in front of the meeting room. Everyone looked down to the end as they saw Markus at the head of the table preparing to give a speech.

"Everyone, I've made a decision that'll help make our mission easier. Ever since we had our good friend Tyler out of commission for a month due to an incident during a raid at this exact building where we stand now, I've decided that we need to split up, divide and conquer. If we break off into two groups we can cover more ground and work quickly. I've been planning how to divide the teams and which one will best fit our new recruits" Markus said.

Everyone looked around and wondered who the new recruits are, "Our new recruits will be joining us soon, Their names are Sentinel and Omega. They interchange places so we will not see both of them at the same time" Everyone was excited to meet the new recruits, "So, Our teams are as follows. Jason, You're with me, Henry and Tyler are also with me. Jonas, you'll be with Michael and Greg, and eventually Sentinel and Omega" Markus stated, "Everyone, good luck. To our headsets!" He added. Everyone went to their stations in the adjacent room with their headsets.

Markus, Jason, and Henry dawned their headsets and joined up with Tyler who was already waiting for them. As they spawned in their safehouse realm, Markus greeted Tyler, "Glad to see you back as Jance, we all missed that iconic look we've come to know you by" Tyler was glad to see his friends, "come on guys, Mr. Silver's got a a new mission for us. We've got to meet this guy named Doubleback in realm 8, he's got something for us!" Tyler told them.

Together they began preparing a train to take with them, "we're gonna need two flatbeds, a crane, and a caboose to pick up Mr. Silver" Tyler instructed, "I'll pull the train" Henry agreed, "Tyler and Jonas we'll lift you onto the flatbeds" He added.

They were making their way towards the tunnel to realm 8 when the lights went dark, everyone felt funny as they felt the sensation of human bodies rather than mechanical ones ran on steam. The lights came back on, They were now humans in the digital world, they were now dressed in engineer's uniforms and sat in the cabs of their respective locomotives.

Once they reached the other side of the tunnel and met Sterling, he explained it all. "I guess you've just seen that here's been a new update, you're no longer the engines, you're the engines pilots" He said to the crew as he stepped in what is now Henry's engine's cab. "What else do you know?" Henry asked, "Well we need to meet one of my best fighters, Doubleback. He knew about this update and he's going to help you guys armour up your engines. We've got a new fight on our hands and We've got to arm you all up, He's currently stationed at the smelting plant down past the freight yard 3 miles from here" Sterling said.

The ride there was long. Markus was waiting to ask Sterling a question he'd wondered for so long to pass the time, "Hey Mr. Silver! I've always wanted to know, why are me and my team along with Torrey all british locomotives?" Sterling asked him a question back, "Do you know of a long dead franchise called Thomas and Friends?" he said, "Yes, I do. My father and uncle used to watch the show when they were kids, he showed me some of it on VidTube when I was younger" Markus replied.

"Well, the reason your original crew specifically are all British designs is because TunnelVision had a contract with Thomas' original brand holder to build a virtual reality game that took place in the Thomas show, they built the island and many of the main characters. When Thomas' original brand holder got wind of what TunnelVision was doing in secret, and with a feud between certain employees at both companies. The two split, and the project had to be cancelled and modified. The designs were slightly altered to avoid copyright, however the island stayed remotely the same. I believe if you look hard enough you'll find some content left over, and certain characters that only had one run or were cut before anyone was imprisoned"

Markus and his crew were speechless, "And how did you know all this?" Jason wondered, "It's because I got out. I was the first to be imprisoned and the true first to escape. I explored and dug through as much as I could. Then Torrey unplugged himself and shot me right in the head. I know many things about this damn prison and I won't let my soul rest until I see to it myself every single one of TunnelVision's goons running this fucking zoo is dead by my hand or an accomplice's hand" The crew cheered him on, they had tried to make peace without resorting to killing, but the line was crossed and they had no choice but to take them all out. It was time to really wage a war.

They finally arrived at the smelting plant where Doubleback greeted them, "Welcome warriors, I assume you're the warriors Sterling told me about. Ah what the hell who am I kidding of course you're the warriors. Come, come! I've got the stuff for you. You guys can just call me DB by the way if Doubleback is a mouthful" The team were already beginning to like him, he was very friendly and welcoming. The team followed Doubleback inside the workshop area, there was a wall of various kinds of weapons, and a forge with many armour plates. "Feel free to take whatever you choose, I've got plenty more" Doubleback told them.

Markus was the first to pick. He took a set of gattling guns, a roof mounted rocket launcher, a cowcatcher, and steel grilles to cover the windows of his engine's cab. Everyone else took what they desired, and they were all handed welding torches to arm up their engines. When they finished, Doubleback and Sterling were impressed, "Oh yeah, you guys are real warriors now" Doubleback said, "Indeed you are my brave soldiers" Sterling added.

Just as they were able to admire their work, that's when it happened. A whistle that rattled across the realm. Sterling and Doubleback's eyes dilated, they knew who it was. Whoever they were, was after Sterling, they finally found him. "Doubleback, Hide! We'll handle him. Demolisher can't see you with us" Sterling warned him
