I had been driving for hours when I finally parked at the airport. It had been easy enough getting a flight to Seattle but the wait was long. Lucky for me the conveniently overpriced airport bar had offered me a quiet place to forget my worries in the meantime. After finishing off a solid five drinks I boarded AS21 and ordered myself an additional three mini whiskey bottles. By the time we landed I had mostly slept off the numb daze I was in but now felt groggy as I climbed into a cab.

My head felt as though it were imploding, the sun far too bright and the beeping of horns, screaming of people, and whatever the hell else way too much.

"Where to?" The cabbie questioned

I froze, unsure of where I was even heading.

"Discovery park please." I replied as I reached for the seatbelt and pulled it across

The ride was a rather short one. The bustling city streets flew by us as we went. The ride held a comfortable silence, but my now sober mind did not.

What on earth am I doing?

He parked by the visitor center and I paid him in cash before stepping out. I slammed the door shut and then took in a deep breath of the city air that reminded me of home.

I was home.

I started down the path and let my mind wander to think about anything, well anything but Parker that is. I walked and I walked and I walked. My legs burned by the time I finally settled onto a bench and fished my phone out from my pocket. I stared at it, pressing the side button to turn it on for the first time in many hours. It took a moment but once fully on there were countless notifications that all came from her and Kayla. I sneered at the display.

Fuck her.

I swiped up and typed in my passcode before going to the phone app and dialing.

There were three rings before he picked up, "Hey this Colton."

"Hey Colton, it's cousin Hayden. I'm in town so I figured I'd ring you up." I stated, my voice wavering slightly

There was a long pause before he replied, "Where should we meet up?"

"Discovery park, the north end by the Daybreak star Indian Cultural Center." I replied, trying my best to hold it together, "I could be there in thirty minutes if you're free."

"I'm free I'll see you soon." He replied without hesitation, "Love you."

"Love you too." I smiled before taking the phone from my ear

Before I could even press the end button I felt a sharp contact against the back of my head and everything went black in an instant.

I woke to complete darkness and as I moved to brush the hair from my face I found my hands to be tied behind my back. I was sitting upright in a metal chair that felt like ice against my bare calves that were tied tightly. I squared up my shoulders and tried to tug my wrists free as I shot forward. The action was met with no success other than feeling as though the ropes had further tightened around me. I felt as though the walls were closing in around me, the room flashing red even in the pitch black of the vacant air. My heart beat like a kick drum and my palms were slick with sweat. The musty smell of the room invaded my nostrils but was soon forgotten and replaced by the metallic taste of my own nausea as it took control.

I had been so reckless to have allowed this to happen. Despite my rising anger with Parker's endless lies the fact that they were onto us had remained and yet...
