My Best Friend

•JENNA'S POV•
"Matt give them back!!"
I screamed to Matt. He stole my sunglasses while I was talking to my friend Mia.
"NEVER HAHAHA!!"
He yelled back. It was our third grade picnic right before summer vacation. Matt and I were SOO excited for summer. Swimming in the pool everyday, sleepovers every night, we were siked!!
I finally was able to catch up to him and I wrapped my arms around him so he couldn't move and I could grab my sunglasses.
"GOTTEM!! Haha you can't beat me. You just can't!" I said brushing off my shoulders. That was when he took them again and dashed the other way. I chased him again. I got them again. He would have took them again but we were both too exhausted to run around again, plus the fact that we were both laying on the ground laughing really hard.
It was time for us to go back inside to get our backpacks and items from our cubbies, so Matt and I hugged and walked out separate ways. Of course we weren't in the same class. I went to go back to Mia but I couldn't find her. By the time I found her she seemed like she was mad at me and didn't want to talk to me so I stayed behind and walked by myself. This happened a lot, anytime I was friends with another girl. But, it's okay because I have Matt and he's my best friend. I know he will never leave me.
When I got to the class room, I got my things, said goodbye to my teacher, Mrs. Clehane, and left the room.
Matts classroom was right Across from mine so I waited for him outside the door. He finally came out and we started walking down the stairs to go on the bus. I was going over his house because both of my parents had work and his parents were off for the summer. We got on the bus and sat next to each other in the middle section of seats. Next year we would be 4th graders and we could sit in the back. But for now, we had to sit in the middle .
(*insert rolling eyes emoji*)
We arrived at his bus stop and said our goodbyes to Mr. Colins, the bus driver. We hopped off and raced down the block before Mrs. Espinosa could even say
"Hi!"
We got to his house and bursted through the doors. We dropped our backpacks and ran to the cabinet to get a snack. We sat at the table and ate our Cheese Its before running to the backyard to go on the trampoline. We got on and we jumped, flipped, bounced and played games. We really liked the game where you put the balls on the trampoline and you can't touch them. Matt always trips and falls and it's really funny!
When we were both hot and sweaty, we ran inside to change into our bathing suits. I changed in the bathroom and Matt changed in his room.
I wore a hot pink and yellow polka dotted tankini with flowers on the seems, and Matt wore bathing suit shorts with bright colored Hawaiian flowers on them.
We met in the kitchen to apply sunblock and then we ran back outside to go in the pool. Matt jumped in right away but I took my time.
When we were both in, we swam around splashing, playing and overall having a great time.
It got pretty late by the time we got out and my parents said it would be okay if I slept over. This is something else that happened a lot. I guess Matt and I have been friends for so long that these things seemed so natural. Is that bad? If so, whatever. All I know is that Matt and I are staying up all night doing whatever because school was out and we could. All nighter here we come!!
(We fell asleep at 9:30)
