Prologue

I feel like I need to tell you a few things before we begin.
I am the Officer in the title, but you can call me Christian.

Christian Cash Amhearst...I was supposed to be named after my father, but thankfully I only got it as a middle name.

My father was a druggy and was never around, but when he was he always made sure he left a good memory behind.

My mother left years ago and no one has seen her since.

Not that any of us care we got by just fine without her.
Thanks to my sister and her husband who took us in.

Felicia was a god send when we needed a place to stay after dad lost his job.

Her husband Jaxon didn't like it very much at first. But he really didn't have it in him to make us sleep out on the streets of chilly Chicago.

That's all I can think of right now....what?....Oh yeah how could I forget to mention my other siblings and my daughter.

Adam "Smack" is my older brother and trust me once you meet him you will understand why we call him Smack.

Robin is next and he is my favorite older brother...he is also married to a man named Mitchell.

But don't ever call him that unless you want to reset your nose...trust me.

Natalie is my other sister and she is about a year older than me. She has a daughter named Christina, but we call her Christy.

Lee is our baby brother and he is in college to be a lawyer. Lord knows Mitchie will need one.

And last but really the star of my life. My beautiful daughter Stella. The light of my life and the reason I will never fall in love.

That was until I met her.

Stella was the result of a one -night-stand. But I wouldn't change her for the world.

Her mother Sandra and I were never a real couple, but I was willing to try and make it work for the sake of our daughter. Unfortunately she had other plans.

She abandoned her when she was just three days old. And its been just me and her ever since.

But that's about to change and I welcome that change, because she needs a mother and I need someone to love.
