Felicia's Pov...Back To The People That Matter...The Bar...

"Maybe she just doesn't want to worry you, considering you're a mother and all." I said even though I really wanted to tell her the truth about her girlfriend.

"I know about her past, but I don't care...I love her."

"Because she is as unhinged as you?" Christian asked as he held his daughter close. "Do you mind covering for me...I kind of promised Stella I would get her some ice cream before you take her home."

"Sure go ahead...no one's here anyway." Nat answered as she looked around the nearly empty bar.

"Don't worry John and Herman should be here soon and they normally bring a crowd." Chris said before heading to the door. "And make sure they pay their tabs and card anyone that looks under 21."

"Yeah...like we don't already know that." I scoffed as he left the bar. "But right now I need to go clean Jack's backseat."

"Ugh...oh yeah." She said disgusted. "Hey, where did Smack and Tabi go?"

"I don't know, I just hope that they keep their clothes on." I said before heading out the door with some cleaning supplies.

Katerina's Pov...Lunch With Robin and Mitchie...B's Diner...

I sat across from my brother and his husband in a small diner, that smelt like grease and stale beer...just waiting for someone other than me to speak.

"Do you still want to go through with this?" Robin asked finally breaking the silence.

"Of course I do...this isn't just about you guys getting a baby...this is a out me knowing if I can even have one to begin with." I answered with the same half truth that I told Christian earlier.

"Alright, well we have some questions from the doctor to make sure that you are a suitable candidate." He said as he pulled out a folded piece of paper.

"Okay...ask away." I said nervously.

"How many sexual partners have you had, besides Christian?"

"Six, three committed relationships and three one nighters."

"Did you use protection?" Mitchie asked, but I don't think it was related to the paper.

"Yes, condoms and I am on the pill." I answered confidently.

"Have you ever had a miscarriage or abortion, medically or otherwise?" Robin asked quickly changing the subject.

"Yes, but it was early on, so it didn't affect me much." I answered as I picked at the food on the grease covered plate in front of me. "I wasn't in the right place for a child."

"Did you abort it?" Mitch asked softly.

"No, it was something completely out of my control."

"What do you mean by that?" He asked slightly more concerned.

"One of my exes was violent and used to lash out when he didn't get his fix and one night his...um...friend got busted with what he wanted, so he passed out and well...um...I was his target." I explained softly. "And that's all I will say."

"Okay...um...any history of hard drug use?" My brother-in-law asked quickly getting back on topic.

"Yes, but I'm clean now." I answered with a sigh.

"Where you high when you were arrested?" My brother asked still concerned.

"Yes, but that wasn't really what I was charged with." I said calmly. "I was charged with public exposure, disturbing the peace, and assault on an officer."

"How long has it been since you last use?" Robin asked trying to stay on topic.

"Almost three years." I answered slightly uncomfortable. "I'm going to step outside for a minute...the air in here are suffocating."

Before they could protest I got up and headed towards the door...I just needed some time alone for a minute.

I had no idea that they would have to know all of that just to have a baby.

I mean I understand why...I wish that I had known what to expect.

I didn't want them to change their minds, but maybe it wasn't the right time for me.

"Kat...can we talk for a minute?" Rob asked as he stood next to me. "I know this is important to you as well, but are you sure that you really want to do this? Because you can always some other time."

"I don't know...I mean I thought that I was, but I don't know if I can mentally handle it." I answered with a sigh. "This is all so new for me and I don't want to worry you or my brother with my problems."

"We all have problems Kat, but that doesn't change the way your family treats you." He explained softly. "Family is there to help you through those problems...no matter how bad they are."

"You don't know the half of it." I said with a laugh.

"Then why don't we talk about it?" He asked with a smirk. "I promise that I won't tell your brother."

"I don't think that we have enough time." I said returning the smile. "I need to get back to work and you have somewhere else to be."

"Fair enough, but this isn't over yet...I'm going to go pay and then we can drive you back to the bar."

"That's alright, you don't have to do that...I could use the walk." I declined.

"You could try, but I don't think Mitch would allow that to happen...especially not in this neighborhood."

"I'm a big girl, Ginger...I think I can take care of myself."

"I'm sure that you can, but you know how Mitchie is."

"If he has a problem with me walking back to the Billy Club, then he can take it up with me later..not you." I said before walking away before he could stop me again.

My brother was going to have to learn that I didn't need him to protect me all the time.

But then again maybe he was just trying to make up for the years we didn't know about each other. I wasn't used to having an older siblings.

My mom was still pregnant with me when she married Charlie, so for all I knew then he was my father...so when they decided to have a child of their own I was thrilled to be an older sister.

Unfortunately Kathleen died when she was just two months old after suffering a seizure...they never had another child after that, because they were too devastated I guess.

I was only three...so I didn't fully understand what was going on.

I found out the truth about my father when I found my birth certificate at eight years old.

But come to think about it, I should have known long before that, because we never had the same last name.

Plus when I was younger the other kids liked to point out that I didn't look like Charlie and that's what made me look for the paper to begin with.

But it didn't help at all.

It only gave me more questions about where I came from and even if Charlie or my mom went looking for my real dad...but I knew better, because my mom told me herself that I was better off without knowing Patty.

And based on the stories that Mitchie has told me about Patrick...she was right to keep me away.

But then again I could have been closer to my siblings had I met them before my life went to shit.

Who knows what would have happened.
