An elder was asked by his students about the nature of wrath. They sat around a bonfire, feeling its radiant heat. The elder said:

"Consider the bonfire. Unchecked, its flames could spread wildly, destroying life and forest. But contained, it provides light, warmth, and energy for worthy aims."

"Anger is like this fire. When burning out of control, it razes reason and empathy. But when harnessed consciously, wrath fuels courage to mend injustice."

"Our task is compassionately channeling anger's heat - strong enough to inspire change, restrained enough to avoid harming others. Tend this fire vigilantly. Where its light exposes wrongs, bring justice. Where its sparks ignite hatred, bring love."

The students took these words to heart, dedicating themselves to mindfully transforming wrath's energy into passion for justice and truth. Though difficult, they walked the middle path. And their steady burning kindled a light that endured.
