As Lloyd and I traversed the rugged terrain, a sudden encounter with a patrol of Aspheera's assistants sent a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. Locking eyes with the enemy, I knew it was time to act.

Swiftly, I sprang into action, my movements fueled by instinct and training. With precise strikes and calculated maneuvers, I swiftly incapacitated most of the assailants, using my connection to nature to entangle the rest in my vines, rendering them helpless.

But in the midst of the chaos, I found myself ensnared by my own creation, struggling desperately to break free. Panic threatened to consume me until Lloyd, with courage in his eyes, rushed to my aid. With a decisive slash of his blade, he cut through the vines, freeing me from their grasp.

In that moment, as we stood shoulder to shoulder, hearts pounding in sync, a newfound trust and connection blossomed between us. With silent understanding, we continued our journey, strengthened by the bond forged in the heat of battle.

As Lloyd and I caught our breath after the skirmish, he looked at me with a mixture of awe and gratitude. "You're amazing, Y/N. I've never seen anyone fight like that."

I flashed him a smile, feeling a rush of warmth at his words. "Thanks, Lloyd. But I couldn't have done it without your help back there."

He shook his head, a small grin playing on his lips. "Nah, you were the one who saved the day. I just... cut some vines."

We shared a laugh, my trust towards him growing stronger. As we stopped laughing, our eyes met. I notice that his eyes are pure green.

As I admired them, how beautiful Lloyd's eyes are, my heart started racing. Finally, I caught myself, staring and I broke the eye contact, my cheeks flushing.

"Yeah, uh. We should get moving.", I stammered. Lloyd giggled. "I liked the eye contact too."

I groaned, feeling my cheeks grow even warmer. "Stop it"

Lloyd tilted his head, his gaze lingering on me. "Stop with what?" he innocently inquired, a playful smirk tugging at his lips.

"With the charm," I retorted, unable to hide the smile that tugged at my lips despite my best efforts. "We are just two people, who need to get back an artifact."

Lloyd cut my way off. "But somehow I enjoy it.", he protested, gifting me a soft smile.

"Stop!", I giggled, playfully pushing him away. Lloyd fought back, pushing me at my shoulder.

We slowly started to play-fight. "Are you that nervous, master of nature?", Lloyd teased.

I smirked at him. "Bet."

As we continued laughing and playing around, Lloyd managed to grab both of my hands, while fighting.

I could suddenly sense something wood-y behind me. Suddenly realising that the green ninja managed to pin me at a tree.

"Fine, you win.", I scoffed, but Lloyd did not let go. As I am forced to face him, my heart started beating fast again, my body heating up. Lloyd's eyes started to flash up with a purple color.

"Woah, Lloyd, your eyes-", I stammered, slowly stopping to talk, as Lloyd leaned in. His grip tightens as I tried to free my hands.

I started to blush as the tension got bigger. "That's cute.", Lloyd whispered. I am fully flustered, not knowing what I could say, but I admit it, that Lloyd is pretty interesting.

And I am falling for him slowly. Silly me.

"What's cute..?", I stuttered back. Lloyd smiled at me, his gaze leaving a shiver down my spine. "Your blush. Do I make you nervous?", he asked me.

I gulped. "Erm..", I stammered, my cheeks heating up.

"Don't worry, you don't need to be nervous.", Lloyd mumbled. Our faces were inches apart.

"Before I free you, I just want to let you know something.", he started. "If anyone's trying to hurt you, I'll be there, defending you."

I smiled at him. Lloyd's eyes turned back to normal, letting me free.

Lloyd exhaled heavily. "I am sorry. I couldn't help myself-"

I placed my finger at his mouth. "Green-y, it's okay. Actually I enjoyed it, you being protective.", I answered.

Lloyd's cheeks flushed. "That's uhm..", he mumbled,  scratching his back of the head.

I shrugged. "Yeah well, I never knew my past enemy would be half Oni.", I remarked, checking him out, by watching Lloyd closely.

"So you heard from the oni?", he asked. I snorted. "Of course."

As we decided to continue our mission I could feel the tension getting bigger, that Aspeera was near.

"That serpentine should rather show herself instead of hiding."

I regret saying that, when suddenly serpentine warriors disarmed their Camouflage and surrounded us.

We knew there were too many. "Y/N, I think we have to surrender.", Lloyd suggested.

I groaned, gritting my teeth, but I decided to do what Lloyd has suggested.

Well now, we got arrested by the warriors and now we are on our way to Aspheera.
