We decided to build a small tent to sleepover. While Lloyd was collecting wood, I treated my wound. The injury was almost gone, I just needed a kind of bandage.
As I sighed and wanted to look for something similiar, Lloyd entered the tent.
I shrieked and hid the wound, but he saw it. "Y/N! What is this?", he pointed out.
I groaned. "Nothing to worry about."
"Oh really? Let me see.", he answered, putting the wood to the side, while reached out for my injured arm.
I flinched. "Don't act like you care."
Lloyd scoffed. "You really think I am an asshole like this?"
I gritted my teeth, but kept being silent.
"Exactly, there is no reason. Let me help you.", he answered.
I shook my head."Stop it. Why should I trust you?", I asked him angrily.
Lloyd snapped back, "I just want to treat your wound!"
"Yeah whatever! Look, I did not ask for any help. I did not ask you to treat my wound or to help me in the fight.", I answered seriously, but I felt guilt inside of me.
I shouldn't have said that.
Lloyd rolled his eyes. "But that's what I am doing, helping wherever I can., because I care about my allies."
I scoffed. "But me? I was never really your ally. There is no reason for you to care about me."
Lloyd got up, his gaze filled with anger. "But I do care!", he shouted. I went silent.
"I do care! I care so much about you and I don't even know why, but something tells me I should be protecting you.", he explained.
I sighed. "Thanks for caring, Lloyd. You can treat it.", I answered, my voice barely audible.
I glanced at Lloyd, his expression softening as he tended to my wound. The crackling campfire provided a comforting backdrop to our conversation.
After a moment, he turned to me, concern etched in his features.
"Why did you lie to me about the wound?" Lloyd's voice was gentle, but his question pierced through the crackling of the flames.
I hesitated, my gaze dropping to the ground. "I... I didn't want you to think less of me," I admitted softly, the words tumbling out like fragile leaves in the wind. "Being the master of nature, I felt like I should be strong, not... not vulnerable to something as simple as a wound."
Lloyd's hand paused in its task, and he looked at me intently. "Y/N, having a wound doesn't make you weak. It makes you human. Even masters of nature need care and healing sometimes. It's natural to feel vulnerable, but it doesn't diminish your strength."
His words resonated within me, stirring a mix of emotions. I nodded slowly, absorbing his wisdom. "I guess I've always struggled with that perception," I admitted, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders with each confession.
Lloyd smiled softly, his eyes reflecting understanding. "It's okay. We all have our battles, both internal and external. But remember, true strength lies in acknowledging our vulnerabilities and finding the courage to face them."
As the fire crackled and danced before us, I felt a sense of gratitude wash over me, not only for Lloyd's care but also for his unwavering support and guidance.
I took a deep breath, feeling a surge of emotion as Lloyd's words sank in. "Thank you, Lloyd," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry for not being more open with you before. I guess I was too caught up in my own insecurities."
Lloyd's smile widened, his gaze warm and reassuring. "There's no need to apologize, Y/N. We all have our moments of doubt and fear. What matters is that we learn from them and grow stronger."
His understanding demeanor filled me with a sense of gratitude and relief. "I appreciate your patience with me," I admitted, a faint blush coloring my cheeks.
Lloyd chuckled softly, the sound like music to my ears. "Patience comes naturally when you care about someone," he replied, his eyes holding mine with an intensity that sent shivers down my spine.
"You do like me?", I asked him. Lloyd grinned. "Of course."
I couldn't help but tease him, a playful grin tugging at the corners of my lips. "So, do you like me, or like-like me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow in mock curiosity.
Lloyd's expression softened, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "I'm not sure," he admitted with a shrug. "But I do know that I'm quite obsessed with getting to know more about you."
His candid response caught me off guard, and I found myself blushing even deeper.
Lloyd's teasing remark sent a rush of warmth to my cheeks, and I couldn't help but stammer in response. "I-I'm not flustered," I insisted, though my voice betrayed me, wavering with embarrassment.
He raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk playing on his lips. "Sure looks like it to me," he teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Determined to regain the upper hand, I shot back, "Oh please, I've seen you blush at the sight of a cute woodland creature."
But before I could revel in my comeback, Lloyd's laughter filled the air, infectious and genuine. As his laughter subsided, I felt a mischievous urge take hold of me. Without hesitation, I launched into action, tickling him mercilessly.
Lloyd's laughter echoed around us, filling the night air with joy. But soon, his laughter turned into gasps as he attempted to catch his breath.
Seizing the opportunity, he lunged forward, his towering frame almost pinning me to the ground, but before I could touch the ground, Lloyd catched me with his free arm.
Caught off guard, I found myself locked in an intense gaze with Lloyd, our breaths mingling in the crisp night air.
His green eyes meet mine. My heart starts racing.
"We probably shouldn't..." I whispered, my voice barely audible above the crackling of the fire.
Lloyd responded, "Yes, we shouldn't. But I don't really mind anymore."
I raise an eyebrow, my heart still racing.
"Well, let me ask you the question again, green-y. Do you like or like-like me?", I repeated my question. But Lloyd's response was swift, his hand gently cupping my cheek as he leaned in, his lips meeting mine in a passionate kiss. Time seemed to stand still as our lips moved in perfect harmony, the world around us fading into obscurity.
Everything just felt right in that moment. Me and Lloyd parted from the passionate kiss, my gaze locked with his.
"I guess that's an like-like.", I whispered. He smiled and replied, "More than that sweetheart, I fell so deeply in love, you can't even imagine.."
He paused shortly, catching his breath to continue,"How much I want to be your boyfriend."
