You left a tattoo on my heart.
No one can see it, but I can still feel it.The ink filled needle punctures through the surface and goes in deep to the core of it.
I can feel your color dancing from within. Blue, red, and green.
You made me believe it was a rainbow, but I saw it quickly turn to ashes and betrayal. You made me doubt in pink.
You left me black and purple.Your red hue engulfs us two in the flames we started.
Your tattoo bleeds me blue.
I cut it out for you and framed it by our picture.
You looked yellow in teal more than you did blue.
The red tears drip down from my heart onto you.
Our tattoo muddles to a gray dark stain, marking the heart shape cut I left for you.People notice our rainbow tattooed on my charred heart now.
The searing fire catches on and consumes us as we stare through it, white, pink, and violet blue.

I interpret my poem as a person in a relationship where they feel they can't go because they have a reason to stay. In this case, she has him tattooed on her heart and feels she can't move on. It hurts to keep going, but she doesn't want it to end. Just like getting some tattoos. You take the pain in exchange for a piece of art on your body permanently on you. Sometimes, the tattoo is only temporary and fades away. Sometimes, the tattoo also doesn't work out the way you hoped it would, and you're left heartbroken with an ugly tattoo. The removal is going to cost, and the cover-up is going to hurt, but in the long run, it was worth it because you have the beautiful new and fresh set tattoo above it to remind you that it took a little more time to get there but you got there.
