Above is sort of what I think Danika and Alivia's apartment would look like. Not too fancy because their broke college student. Imagine lots of plants and books everywhere!

August 2023

"Where the hell have you been?"

Both Alastor and I whipped our head's in the direction of my roommate and best friend. "A-Alivia, I can explain..." I say slowly.

Alastor clearly can't be seen. "Better not to tell her, sweets. She'll try to admit you," he laughs loud and clear with his creepy, smug voice.

"You are covered in dirt and bruises. I can also tell you've been crying. A lot," she responds flatly. How could I even explain this? I could say I was mugged, but she would want to call the police. She knows me well. I'll have to be somewhat truthful.

"You can't get mad, okay?" I request with pleading eyes.

"I was starting to freak. You've never not come home." Alivia shakes her head, but then looks at me for a response.

"The one time you go out on the town, you get tricked into summoning a demon. I'm going to have my hands full with you, sweetheart," I hear Alastor sneer behind me.

"Remember Eris and her friends?" I ask her. Dread takes over her face at my words. She nods carefully. Alastor tightened his grip on my shoulder, making me realize how dangerously close he was. I clear my throat and continue, "They took me to a cemetery, left me there, and then it took forever to find my way out..."

"Oh my God. I've never fought anyone before Dani, but this is the time," she fumed and started towards the door. I broke away from Alastor's grip and grabbed her by the shoulder. She whips around with fury in her eyes.

"I, I just want to drop it, okay? It makes me sad, and there is nothing I can do about it." I wasn't lying. Them tricking and abandoning me hurt. I have a worse problem to deal with now, but I am sad. There's no way to fix what they did at the moment. I lack experience in demons understandably. Leaning in, I hug my best friend close. Although Alastor was watching with slanted eyes and a wide grin, I started to cry. And I mean really cry.

"I'm so sorry this happened to you," she hushes me softly, "It's alright now."

"No, it's not," I continue to sob, "They acted like we were friends for a month, led me deep into a cemetery, and..." Still smiling, Alastor gave me a warning look, and a weird static clouded around him for a split second. I had to try not to flinch. "They just left me there." Alivia leads me toward my bedroom while rubbing my back and consoling me. Glancing back, I see Alastor looking away with a sadness in his eyes. His smile didn't quite meet them. He also was gripping his microphone intensely.

After an hour or so because it was late, Alivia went to bed. I needed a second to breath as well, but I was worried a certain demon would appear. Consequently, I didn't sleep through the night. I also had no phone, so I spent most of my time on my laptop doing homework. I'd have to rely on it for awhile until I can afford a new phone.

When the sun started rising, Alastor appeared. He actually looked startled when he saw me awake. "You wake up very early, darling. You're so dedicated," he says awkwardly and gestures towards my laptop.

"Actually, I've been awake preparing for when you come at a time like this. You'll wait till I'm sleeping to kill me or something," I respond coldly and keep my eyes on my laptop.

"Why would you think I'd kill you? I told you who we are," he sighs.

"No, you told me who you are." I still don't dare to glance up.
