"Are we even allowed here?" Amie couldn't help asking her little brothers in a whispering shaking voice.
Their family of five, in a very rare occassion, decided to travel in this country with many temples. They were originally staying in a rented courtyard for themselves. Her parents left for a moment to meet someone, leaving her in charge of her brothers. Which was a very bad decision on her parents' part, apparently...
Aaminin niyang siya ang pasimuno na maggala habang wala ang kanilang mga magulang. She even brought the twins with her, making sure na hindi siya isusumbong ng mga ito.
'Mabilis lang tayo.' She said.
'Babalik din tayo agad. They won't even know na lumabas tayo.' She added.
Well, damn.
Look at the sky now.
They left with it still lighted up by the sun. But now, the sky was turning purple orange indicating of setting of the sun.
Her hands were already sweating out of nervousness. Yung sandali nila ay inabot na ng kalahating araw at mukhang aabutin pa ng magdamag. She could already tell na nakauwi na sa tinutuluyan nilang bahay ang kanilang mga magulang. And most likely, the two were already planning how to deal with them when they come back.
Unfortunately, siya lang ang nakakaramdam nito. Because her dumb brothers still wanted to play hard outside.
It was really a terrible decision for her to bring them with her. She was just a year older than her two twin little brothers and mischievous in her own ways. But when it came to being naughty, wala na atang tatalo pa sa kapatid niyang si Uno.
Siya ang pasimuno but midway, it was him leading them towards their demise already.
"It's okay. Abandonado daw tong templo na ito. So walang nagbabantay at walang pipigil sa atin na pumasok." Uno said nonchalantly.
That only scared the living hell out of Amie.
Abandoned plus them alone... Most likely, it would end up in horrifying thing.
"I heard, this was built for the Great General of this country, like Lolo Vicente." He continued.
"The Great General and her twin brother." Dos said.
"En... The two of them were legends. They said..." Uno started to retell the story from the storytellers they encountered at the city market.
Of course, Amie heard the story too. She was also enthralled by it. A female Great General... Imagine that! She could also just imagine all the opposition she faced but still pushing through until they had no choice but to accept her greatness.
The storyteller said, in the old dynasty, there were twin brother and sister born in the house of the Great General.
The boy was born sickly due to the complication during their birth. But the girl was very healthy.
While growing up, they would swap clothes and no one would noticed that other was doing this and that on behalf of other.
Even after their coming of age and finally, the brother had to go to the Northern Border to join the army, no one noticed that it was the little sister who did so. In there, she worked really hard to raise her ranks until she became a Great General.
The brother was not simple too. He was talented in terms of medicine even at the young age. Despite him being sickly, he managed to become the disciple of the Heavenly Doctor. He had to do so while wearing his sister's dress though but what were clothes compared to learning medicine?
