Right before I struck the curse, I was touched by Bianca. Everything blurred for a moment, and when I blinked, I was elsewhere. There was a huge crater on the ground, and the cursed spirit we were fighting was gone.

"Nico!" Bianca's shout brought my hands together faster than I could think. I summoned Divine Dogs and had them search for the curses. Any curses nearby, because they were running away, it was likely they were suppressing their cursed energy.

The Divine Dogs looked at each other, then shook their heads. They were gone.

"No use, they can't sense anything," I informed my sister and then looked at my hands. It was weird, my output was incredibly heightened, so my Shikigami's overall output should also be enhanced, and yet, they couldn't find the curses. I looked away and put a hand on my chin, "A teleportation technique?" That was difficult to conform to, but it was either that, or a concealment technique.

"Whatever it is, they are gone for now" Bianca said. Her body was still shivering from the cold, cursed energy could mitigate the cold and heat through reinforcement, but we were surprise attacked by the enemy and the technique used was high output.

I felt myself weaken around the knees and then fell on Bianca's shoulder. She grabbed me.

"Nico! Ni...co..." Sound surrounding me blurred, and I let myself fall asleep.

My dreams were weird more often than not, but this one was specially so. It was shadowy, but it followed people. I was in some form of playground, completely deserted. In the swings there were two people, no, calling them people was a stretch.  With deformed figures, they were more akin to monsters or curses. I couldn't see their faces, nor could I see their true figures, all I saw was the silhouette left behind by the shadows.

"Oh, you've two returned," the slimmer of the two in the swings spoke. The silhouette and became more humanoid. The swinging stopped, and it crossed its legs. I couldn't distinguish how their voice was like, it was distorted. "How was the mission."

Shadows in the park dissipated slightly, showcasing the woman from before. She was being dragged by her left foot by something.

"Yuki found sorcerers." Nico couldn't see who was talking. Whoever spoke was invisible to him. It wasn't just the shadows, even her silhouette was distorted and not constant. "One of them was fast, the other used lightning and Shikigami. She barely escaped alive."

"That's surprising, Yuki's ice should be stronger than any regular lightning." The larger silhouette on the swing spoke while the humanoid grabbed the chains of the swings and began going back and forth.

"His output was big, and he most likely used a binding vow as well." The invisible being let go of Yuki's leg, letting her rest on the ground.

"I told you it was only a matter of time until one was born. The world balances itself. If curses get too strong, then sorcerers will be born to stop them." The humanoid silhouette swung back and forth now. "A lightning technique is troublesome. Did it come from the sorcerer?"

"No, from the clouds above."

"Ugh, that's even more troublesome." The person on the swing lifted his feet, and let his head fall back. "The output couldn't be so high if it was away from his body."
