The rest of Lyra's day was ruined with her consistent sour mood and when the final bell rung at 4 o'clock the girl quickly escaped the dark potions classroom and took the quick path back to the common room. Absolutely fed up with people and their lack of common sense, Lyra was ready to lock herself up for the evening and shower away the events of the horrid day .It worked in the beginning seamlessly slipping pass 'her group' as they passed her heading towards the Great Hall for dinner and reaching her uninhabited room with ease. Sighing in relief at the first moment of peace she had received that since leaving the room eight hours prior. Dropping her satchel and flinging the heavy robes from her shoulders  and onto the black wooden floor Lyra let out a frustrated sigh . The semi circle room was lite by the faintness light that seeped in from the black lake with the tinge of green casting a deep shadow into the room .Lyra's four poster immaculate bed stood in the middle of the room with one bed to her left and two to her right. It was the bed she took every year in every dorm. It was the perfect balance for her. Not right beside the door but still easily accessible and to far away from the ensuite to her right.

The emotionally exhausted girl gathered her shower utilities before making her way to the small bathroom. The room soon filled with steam as the girl stepped into the boiling water. Lyra sighed again in relief as the water washed away the crisp blood that collected on the healing wounds of her back, the sting a welcomed feeling that the black haired had grown used to. Lyra, lost in her own thoughts and the soothing shower, couldnt hear the gentle shouts of her roommate at the bathroom door until the gentle and quite knocks became impatient and instead Lyra was woken from her daydreaming to the harsh banging of the black door. Switching the shower off and wrapping her dripping body in her towel ,Lyra hastily opened the door, revealing Vesta Zabini dressed immaculately a plate of food in her hand.

'Sorry, I coundnt hear over the shower, did you need to go'

the girls stood in silence as Vesta examined the pale face of her best friend. Dripping with water and hair slowly drying in their natural curl.

'No,teddy told what happened at break'

'Ohh, what' Lyra stepped out of the steam filled bathroom into the particularly cold dorm.

'Lyra, dont act like you dont know'

'Know what' Lyra airily laughed pulling on her warm pyjama. Vesta's deep brown eyes lingered on the girls back as she put on her top.

She turned again after slipping her jumper on back to Vesta, whos eyebrow was raised

'Come off it already'

'look I just dont want to talk about'

'You never want to talk about anything........ I just wanted to see if you were alright'

'Thank you V, I really appreciate it, I do' Lyra moved closer to her taller friend and patted her arm  thankfully.' here this is for you'

Vesta passed the plate filled with a mixture of pasta and sauce and extra toppings to her shorter  friend.'Im going to head  to the library for a bit, once your ready, come join me. Everyone is coming' Vesta asked almost as if that would encourage Lyra to attend the Slytherin study group. The door closed softly behind Vesta and Lyra couldnt think of anything else she would rather not do. Placing the plate down on her beside table, she sat into her bed. Her head feeling so heavy ,Lyra pulled the duvet up to her shoulder and struggled into the silk pillow. Instantly falling asleep after an extremely exhausting day.

Lyra woke to a start. The  soft light that once lit the room vanished and the silence now filled with the soft breathing of her roommates. Groggily Lyra checked the clock on her bedside table. She couldnt have slept for long. Maybe the girls turned in early. However she was completely wrong and was met with the figures of half twelve at night. Lyra widen her eyes and quickly scrambled to pull her slippers on and hurriedly made her way out of the dorm. Careful not to wake the sleeping Slytherins as she went. Racing through the dark and empty common room she made it out of the portal. Hogwarts in the dead of night was completely different to Hogwarts during the day. Eerily quite with random and mysterious noises that echoed the corridor created a creepy atmosphere that was ignored by the fast walking Black girl. Her destination not far, but trickily with the constant patrols of prefects on night duty. Slipping quietly past the Hufflepuff 5th year duo Lyra gratefully arrived at the the dimly lit small cavern barrels placed together and a small window that allowed the moonlight to seep in. Knocking twice on two specific barrel the bricks of the wall under the window disappeared and the light of the kitchens flowed into the small cavern. Slipping into the small entrance Lyra was met with the not smiling face of her brother in a tiny corner of the massive kitchen. descending the stone steps and politely greeted the working elves as they went about making the morning breakfast.
