Chapter 10: A Rude Awakening

The Next morning, the sky was a beautiful blue, the sun was shining ever so bright, and a sleeping, but soon to be awake Giantess was cuddling me against her giant face cheek.

Just then Meliodas came out of his owned tavern 'The Boar Hat' and came over towards her, "Good Morning Diane.", He said in a soft voice, Diane opened a sleepy eye and smiled warmly, she gave a little yawn, and carefully lifted herself up into a seated position, "Good Morning Captain.", She replied happily.

Then Meliodas noticed that she was still holding on to me in her hand, he gave a small chuckle, "Looks to me that you've grown quite attached to the little guy, huh?", Diane giggled with glee, "I think so Meliodas?", She replied sweetly, "It's like... well...", She paused and thought for on what to say next, "Like what?", Meliodas asked, "Well like... we had adopted our own little kid, and I mean like all of us together, you know?", Meliodas smiled, "Yeah,...", He replied knowingly, "... I understand completely what you mean by that Diane.", The Giantess smiled and looked down at my peaceful limp body sleeping in her hand.

Just then the others came out and spoke to Diane as well, the others also made a few comments about me and her together and all had a good laugh or two, Elizabeth thought that the two of us together was just the sweetest thing she had ever scene, Diane only smiled sweetly and then gently stroked my short jet black hair.

Soon it was time to for everyone to move on to a new location, and they set off to find a spot to stop, rest, and possibly give some service if they should ever come across another town or village.

And that's was when I finally understood their intentions later that afternoon when I finally woke up...

Meliodas, Elizabeth, & the others had gotten about a mile on their trek across the country, when Diane felt movement in her hand and heard groaning as well, she looked down and saw that I was slowly beginning to finally stir from my long sleep, "Captain! Everyone!", She exclaimed in hushed excitement, everyone turned around to face the giantess, "The Boy,... He's... He's Waking Up!", Meliodas & the others stared in surprise, "Quick, set him down by this tree here!", He said quickly, Diane did just that and gently set me against the tree, then they all waited for me to fully awaken, and eventually... I did.

But I wasn't happy to see them at first.

As I awoke, I began to hear faint voices, but I was still groggy from sleeping for half the day, then I slowly open my eyes, "Look he's opening his eyes now.", Said a voice, my visions were still blurred and furthermore the sun was blinding me a little, so I couldn't see who said that properly, then my visions started clearing up, "Hey there little buddy, how are you feeling?", Said another voice, but this time I knew who this was, "Wah?", I began then my vision fully became clear again, it was Meliodas staring at me with Elizabeth and some other people that I never recognized, but then I looked up and saw Diane and I nearly screamed out of sheer horror, I jumped up and stared with my back against the tree, my eyes shifted panicky from left to right and back again observing the group standing in front of me, "W-Who Are Y-You Guys!?", "How D-Did You Find Me!?", "A-A-And... What Is Going On!?!?", I said understandably freaked out, "Hey! Hey! Hey, Calm Down Mr. Scance!", Said Elizabeth trying to keep me calm, "It's Me, Elizabeth, and Meliodas remember?", She added, suddenly I relaxed a bit, I looked at the two people at front of the group, (yes I did remember them), They were exactly the same people that I met at their tavern the other day, "W-What do you two want from me?", I asked them nervously, Meliodas smiled warmly, "Well,...", He began, "...We were going to tell you about our plans, we just hoped you didn't wake up like this, but anyways, I had told everyone including Elizabeth here about what you had told to me that day you had another run in with our old friend Gilthunder...", "That Blithering...", But I stopped myself and cleared my throat then apologized for my sudden outburst and Meliodas continued as if he hadn't heard the outburst, "Yes, him, and he had posted a wanted script onto my wallboard, stating for your capture.", My heart sank when he told me of what he had been informed on what to do, "But don't worry,...", Said Elizabeth kindly, "...we're going to be taking good care of you and help you find a way to get you back to your home world.", My face seemed to brighten up a little by these words, but then I went skeptical and asked them, "You're probably just saying that to let my guard down... right?", Elizabeth and the others looked really hurt by my words, "Oh No. No. No Little One, you misunderstand us.", Said Elizabeth sympathetically, "We don't want to take you in, not after what you shared with us.", Added Meliodas, "We promise you, our intentions are good for your sake, and we will never ever trade you for anything.", After hearing these truthful and sincere words, I shed a single joyful tear and smiled with true understanding, and before anyone could think of anything else, I threw myself towards both Elizabeth & Meliodas and wrapped my arms around them in a grateful embrace surprising everyone even myself, but I didn't care, this was the most happiest moment I had ever experienced in this new dimensional world, tears of joy streamed down of my face, The Bartender & Waitress both smiled warmly, and with each arm they joined the embrace, and rubbed and patted my back comfortably, through my happy tears I whimpered, "Thank you... so much, you don't know how happy I am right now.", The young couple just continued to smile and gave me comforting words to make me feel better, and soon the waterworks stopped and I began to calm down, "Feeling better Mr. Scance?", Elizabeth asked softly, "Y-Yes Ma'am.", I replied with a small cough still whimpering a little since I was going through so much emotion, then Meliodas spoke up, "Come on. Let's get moving again.", I looked up at him and asked him where we were going, "Anywhere in Britannia kid.", He replied smiling, then added, "There's a lot to see in this country, and you'll be traveling with us to see it all.", I gave a small, shy, grin, then I smiled, "Well...", I began as Elizabeth helped me back on my feet again, "...lead the way sir.", Meliodas grinned knowingly and soon everyone including myself were back on the road again, though I kept close to Meliodas and Elizabeth who followed behind the others as I was a little nervous be around the others since I didn't know them...

Not yet that is... and let me tell you, these guys were NOT what I was expecting...
