The next day, Chloe couldn't focus on anything. How could she? She had snuck out of the house late at night and gone to the park with a guy who was probably over the age of eighteen. Yet somehow, she hadn't faced any consequences. But she kept her mouth shut to avoid things going downhill from there, and told herself that it was all a dream, and that Rascal had died two months ago. Nothing happened that night. And in the eyes of many, it was nothing other than a dream. And maybe it wasn't a dream, maybe it was a loving soul with a heart of gold.
She realized she had felt something unusual that night. Was it fear? Or was it something different? It was something she had never felt when she was near him before, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
That same night, Chloe had a dream where she was putting on all of Rascal's clothing. But when she got to the mask, she just stood there, holding it in her hands and staring at it. She wanted to put it on, but she could only wonder how clothes made for someone so tall could fit her. It seemed impossible. Were they somehow adjusting themselves to fit her perfectly? It seemed almost supernatural.
