A few hours after the previous chapter, Rascal found himself sitting in Eli's bedroom, explaining...everything.
"You see, I feel like you may belong to House Akkia. The River People."
Eli looked away. He had known for a long time that he was not his father's son. He wasn't sure where his real father was. He liked to think he was a doctor or a lawyer. That he would've liked him. "Today has been weird. I almost drowned. I survived...something. And now a clown is in my room telling me something is wrong with me." Rascal took Eli's hand in his. "There's nothing wrong with you." He looked him in the eye. "Think of it like the story of the ugly duckling. Everyone thinks you're just a really ugly duck, but in reality you're not a duck at all. You're a swan, which is better."
"How is this better?"
"You'll see. I'll show you one day."
Eli looked at Rascal. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about my dad, would you?" Rascal began to look a bit sad. "I might." He began to smile a little. "And I'm sure he loves you very much. But for now, just think the same things I think about my dad. Chances are he wants to meet you as much as you want to meet him."
