So let's start with the basics, The following are the main cast of the story:

Leonard

A guy who grow up through poverty now a lumberjack trying to earn a dime to feed his family.

Lucy

B - class assassin of ascendant forge and was tasked in eliminating Leonard but instead they forged an alliance trying to bring the notorious syndicate ending their violent rain of terror.

Saburo

From being a member of the most aggressive outlaws and syndicate into becoming a wise monk who took Leonard under him as a disciple. He freed him to his captors in exchange for 20 million gold coins.

Issei sigawa

One of the previous disciples of saburo that have gone rogue ending decapitating two of saburos student out of anger after he was not chosen as the next heir of the temple.

Beatrix

Daughter of one of the richest family in the land of dawn, she dreamt of becoming the smartest scientist at Eruditio in the land of dawn. Her ultimate dream was to revolutionize technology itself that all people would be able to share ideas, knowledge globally.

Hinoe

Another disciple of saburo. After that incident saburo decided to disband the temple. But he stayed. Saburo countless times have tried to persuade him but it's futile.

Bane

Bane is a pirate stationed in the Frozen Ocean. He once ruthlessly ruled the vast seas of the Northern Vale. He was a sworn enemy of Franco, later suffering a defeat at Franco's hands. By chance, he became the half-man, half-octopus he is today. They divided territories between themselves, and held to a principle of non-interference, plundering only merchant ships that passed through their own territories, to enrich themselves. This became the de facto rule of the Pirate community.

This widely respected order lasted until the arrival of Bane and his men. Cruel, cunning, violent, and tyrannical… No list of adjectives commonly given to pirates would be enough to describe Bane's terrible reputation. Born into a family of pirates, Bane was raised and trained in the strictest manner from childhood. By the time he became an adult, Bane was already the most feared pirate of his time.

Franco

Franco is the only warrior on the Frozen Ocean who can lead people in the fighter against Bane. In one battle, Franco saw through Bane's tricks and finally defeated him. Life was brought back to the Northern Vale under his leadership.

The harsh natural environment of the distant and wintry Northern Vale shaped those who live there into a brave and martial people. They revered the strong, and took pride in their tall and rugged appearances. They believed that their robust physiques were inherited from their common ancestor ⁠— the Iceland Golem who once ruled these lands.

To the young Franco, however, this traditional way of thinking was nothing but oppressive.
