The Rookie Highschool

Chapter 6

2 months came and went. Lucy and Celina decided they shouldn't take anything further, so they wouldn't complicate things. They still remained as close as they were, but Angela and Nyla were as close to Lucy as Celina was. Bailey and John were still friends with her, but they drifted a little and started hanging out as a couple. It was now December. Nobody knew how much money Lucy had inherited from her brother. As it was coming close to Christmas she wanted to make it special for Angela and Nyla. Of course for Celina too, but they had known each other for many years already.  Tim and Lucy had gotten pretty close. They hung out pretty frequently. Although they weren't dating. Lucy, Angela, and Nyla often had triple dates. They were hoping that Celina would find someone, so that she would want to tag along.

[December 15th]

Everything had been going fine until today. The principal had informed us that there was a complicated incident and Talia Bishop would have to report back to attend the high school.

Although the group was furious, they weren't going to let Talia get in the way of their happiness. Not again anyway. Lucy knew she was beautiful. In fact Angela had made jokes about breaking up with her boyfriend for Lucy. Whether or not it was a joke or the actual truth. Lucy had always been told by Angela that she is hot. Of course Lucy was still grieving her brothers death. She learned to find happiness within it. She knows that he wouldn't want her to be said. She spent every waking moment with her friends.

Since Lucy has been on her own and her parents were not in her life anymore to say the least. Her aunt checked up on her, but let her live on her own. Lucy's house became the typical hangout spot being that there are no adults. Her friends parents knew Licy well by now and knew that she faced the trauma of her brothers death because of that and they knew she was a good person. Her friends parents didn't care when or how long they stayed as long as they were with Lucy.

Lucy had other friends, but she preferred to keep her group small. She really liked Tim and wanted to progress things with him. Wesley and James were protective of the girls and Lucy felt as though her brother had sent them to fill his place. Angela , Celina, and Nyla were like the sisters she never knew she needed. John and Bailey of course were there sometimes, but weren't there as frequently as the others. That was all Lucy needed. Her love and her brothers and sisters. They were basically a family. Spending the most recent holidays together. They planned to celebrate every birthday together. Their parents considered all of them each others friends.

On December 15th after school. The group decided they wanted to have a group meeting with all the parents. They wanted to pitch an idea to them. Once they were all sat around the living room of Angela's house. Lucy stood up in front of everyone and began talking.

Lucy- "Obviously enough, we all consider eachother family in this room. We spend every waking moment together. We want to continue to celebrate holidays and birthdays together, but that's not what I'm here to talk about right now. We want to start a tradition. Every Sunday we have a barbecue at the park. All of us teens and the parents. Think of it as a big family bonding day.

Safe to say that everyone loved the idea. Everyone started planning and decided they would start it in April. It gave them more than enough time

Months came and went. Everyone's birthdays came and went. They are 15 and 16. It was now April. Tim and Lucy had been together for a few months and everything was going great. They hadn't seen Talia in a while and they were getting ready to start their new tradition. Everyone was getting everything set up for the barbecue at the park. This will be the first Sunday doing this. Celina still had no luck in finding love. She wasn't upset about. She loves being with her friends. Everyone was goofing around in the grass with each other for a while before they sat in a circle and started talking while their parents were grilling and talking. Lucy realized that the park was in the same area as the cemetery that her brother was buried. It was a 5 minute walk through the park. Lucy got up.

Lucy- "I'll be back in a minute"

Tim could tell that something was wrong so he got up after her and caught up to her leaving everyone still talking in the circle.

Tim- "Luce. What's wrong"

Lucy- "I said i'll be back in a minute" she said as continued to walk.

Tim gently grabbed her by the arm and turned her to look at him. He cuffed her face with his hands.

Tim- "What's wrong"

Lucy- "I'm going to see my brother. He's a few minutes this way."

Tim- "Can I come with you."

Lucy- "Sure"

They arrive at his grave and sit down. Lucy starts talking to him.

Lucy- "I miss you. This is my boyfriend Tim. I know you would say if you were here. You would tell me i'm too young and the. you'd accept it, but not before you scare him. He wouldn't run though. He's good for me. He treats me good." she said looking at Tim.

She continued to talk to her brother until tears filled her eyes. Tim seen that she was trying to hold back tears, so he pulled her onto his lap and straddled her. She cried into his chest. He picked her up and started walking towards where everybody else was. When they got there he realized that she was still asleep. He went over to the picnic benches by the parents and sat down while still holding her. His and Angela's mom came over to them.

Sara- "Son, is she okay?"

Mary(Angela's mom)- "Is she awake"

Tim- "She went to her brothers grave. The walk is a five minutes. It's in this park. I followed with her because I could tell something was wrong when she got up. I sat with her while she talked. She started crying so I just held her and on our walk back she fell asleep."

Sara- "That poor girl. She's gonna stay with us tonight."

Tim- "Okay."

Mary- "The foods ready, so how about you wake her up."

The parents go back over to the grill to take everything off.

Tim- "Luce. Wake up. The foods ready."

Lucy started to sour around and wake up. She was still burrowed into Tim. He stood up and pulled her up to her feet. They sat down. Lucy still as close to Tim as she could get. After everyone ate Lucy went back to Tim's house. Tims mom understands that Lucy feels safe with Tim, so she let Lucy sleep in Tim's room. Lucy fell asleep on Tim's chest.
