Solo Fever

Claire POV

"Girls, let's go! Moms, welcome to Millennium. This is one of the premiere dance studios in LA."Abby announced

We all walked into the studio before getting in our proper line.

"All right, ladies, this week, we are staying right here in California. But I want to talk about the Hollywood competition. You were not focused on that competition. And I want to compliment every one of you on that little girl, Nicaya that came to our studio. You were all friendly. Claire you taught her the group dance, and you befriended her from what I understood. You all behaved like nice, young ladies. You guys, I don't know what happened. The only one that was nice to Kaya, was Sabrina. Which is how you should act for an adult."Abby said

Abby interview:

"The moms have run off another potential student. All except Sabrina. I've known Sabrina since she was a little girl. She danced at this studio along with Kelly. But Sabrina has always been a nice girl. Very talkative to everybody, friendly to everybody. And always popular. And now so are her kids."

"Let's put Hollywood behind us. We are moving on to the pyramid. On the bottom of the pyramid, Kendall. You're back on the team. That's where you have to start. I thought you were outstanding in the group routine. You made a good effort in the duet with Cameron. It's the shoulders, the technique, everything that has to continue to improve."Abby said

I smiled at Kendall.

Kendall interview:

"I tried my hardest to get back on this team, but I'm also sad because I don't think it's fair that I have to be last on the pyramid. I got second place in my duet with Cameron."

"Next. Paige, you're coming off an injury. You did the group routine. I thought you did very well. You should be 100% by this week. You need to dance full out. Then I have Cassandra. Cassandra, the group dance needed some work. And next, Brooke. You were in a group dance and you did not finish the routine in time with everybody else. And next, we have Cameron. You did well in both duets. I found she made the errors when it came to your duet with Kendall. But with you and Maddie's duet, you were the one who made the errors. Legs have to be straight, lifts need to look effortless. You know the drill."Abby told Cameron

He nodded

"And next, we have Maddie. Maddie, in the group, you just kind of blended in. A dancer like you should stand out amongst the crowd. But in the duet, you shined. I think you and Cameron bring out the best in each other."Abby told Maddie, "Moving up the ladder, Nia. You were given something different. The music was very difficult for me to choreograph. It was also difficult to dance to. I thought you handled it well. Your big problem is the technique, so you need to step it up, babe. Next Chloe. Chloe, you made the top five. I want number one. You need to be consistent. You came out. You did two turns and bobbled all over the place. And then I have Claire. Claire, where do I begin? You got second with a number you should be getting first in. A number that should be way too easy for you. I gave you a pretty costume and a nice solo, and you get second. It's not good enough kid, and you know that too. You strive for perfection all the time, and you get second. On the top of the pyramid is Mackenzie. I'm very proud of you."

We all gave Mackenzie a round of applause.

"This week, we will be attending In10sity Dance Competition. This is the competition that determines who is dancing at nationals. Mackenzie, you are doing a solo. It's called "A Perfect Day in the Sun." Chloe, you will be doing another contemporary lyrical routine entitled "Ghost." Claire, you have a solo, a lyrical number called, "Free as a Bird." And Paige, you have a solo also. Kendall, you will be doing a solo. The name of your solo is "Kiss Kiss." Nia, we're changing it up again for you. You're going to be doing a 60's inspired number. And Brooke, you're going to have to get your butt up in the air. The name of your solo is "Fly." So all of your aerial work needs to be in there."Abby said
