Bitten Chapter 12

Kagome shrieked as Kurono collapsed and transformed, which would have been perfectly fine if it weren't for the fact that they were 500 feet in the air, they had been flying for 5 minutes and were only a short distance from the village.

Kagome hugged Inuyasha to her body as she fell, they might survive, if she would be able to put her feet out in time. But she sighed in relief when she landed on a soft, feathery surface.

Taka landed on the ground and let Kagome slip off, Inuyasha in tow. She nearly collapsed on him when her feet hit the ground, but she layed him down before laying herself down. That's when she realized the mark on her neck was burning.

She rolled over and looked at Inuyasha for a few moments before she gasped and sat up. "Oh My god he isn't breathing!" She screeched before flinging herself at him and shaking him violently. "Inuyasha! Don't you dare die you dumb dog!" She screeched, tears pouring down her face as she hugged him to her chest. "Inuyasha...... please...... you can't die......" She sobbed as she layed him back down, her head still buried in his haori.

She saw Taka move to his head, but ignored it and continued to sob, 'This is all my fault! I'm the one who said to stay in that damn village!' She saw Taka lean his head closer to Inuyasha's face as a single reddish orange tear rolled off the tip of his beak and on to Inuyasha's face and disappeared.

Kagome sat up and looked at Taka, who was now backing up. "Wha-wha did you do.... Phoenixes ca-can't cry....." She whimpered. And that's when she head it, the most heavenly sound in the world, Inuyasha coughing.

"Inuyasha!" She cried, flinging herself at him. "We-wench, Why aren't we dead." He said between coughs. Kagome Ignored his question and continued to cry into his haori. "I-I thought I lost you....." She sobbed. "Feh, loose me? Ya Right." He said as he snaked his arms around her back, hugging her closer. "Baka.... Don't do that again!" She said, her tears starting to dry. "Whatever you say Ka-go-me."

Kagome looked up at his face. "You weren't breathing..... Taka saved you.......I don't know how..... but he did....." "Fushicho no namida.....a phoenix's tear........" He hugged Kagome closer, wishing they could stay like that forever. "I love you Inu...." Kagome said as she fell asleep.

Inuyasha sighed as he sat in a tree overlooking the field Kagome slept in. Whatever god was with them in that village, he thanked them for letting him stay with her.

He placed his hand on his mating mark, well it was technically a temporary mating mark...... the real thing could only be done while a couple was actually mating...... He blushed at the thought. The mark was already almost gone and he would have to re mark Kagome in a few days...... He couldn't do the real thing until everything calmed down...... he couldn't risk getting her pregnant, which he knew would happen as his demon side would take over and everything would go down hill from there. All the enemies Inuyasha had would come after her...... they already had to keep it a secret from their friends..... a pup would not be safe at all right now.......

Inuyasha let out another sigh as he continued his watch over his mate.

Tsume slashed his blade across the two figures in front of him, a demon and a Neko demon. Their blood drained into his sword and he smirked, this blade was all powerful, it was the brother to the Kouentori, the Kuraitori, It was capable of sucking the life of it's victim and transferring it a dead man, restoring their life. He then frowned at this, it only worked on those the Kouentori's soul did not choose to protect, sure it was powerful, but it was no use against this hanyou that had obtained the Kouentori.

Tsume turned to the pile of dust in front of him, he held his blade over it and watched as blood dripped off the blade onto the dust, which soon took the form of Kage and Chikiba.

"Wretched fool don't die again!" Kage bowed and stood up. "Tsume I have learned valuable information....." Tsume raised his eyebrow. "The Kouentori has bound to the hanyou's soul......" Tsume growled. "And how to you know!" Kage bowed his head and took a step back. "The Soul has gotten more powerful.......though it is not at it's true power......." Tsume took a deep breath.... there was still hope. "And what else.... I can see in your eyes..... that is not all...." Kage's eyes widened, He knew if he didn't tell Tsume now, he would surely die. "Th-The Hanyou girl.....she is a b-black neko......." Tsume slammed the Kuraitori down into the table in front of him. This development was truely a problem. "Do you know of it's name!" He hissed. "Ka-Kagome....." Tsume's eyes near bulged out of his head. "KAGOME! The one the lord Khazan promised to like fifty people? Including me I might add." Kage nodded. "Bu-But I believe the Inu Hanyou marked her...... but they are not fully mated.....the mark will wear off in about 2 days....." Tsume nodded. "I shall claim her when it wears off". Kage nodded. "Ye-yes Tsume, and I shall be sure to distract the inu until you are done....." Tsume nodded. "Off with you then, and take this Hiryo with you, it smells....." Kage nodded, taking Chikiba's lead and pulling him out of the room.
