Soft music played through the speakers and everyone seemed to enjoy the party. All the board games were played and the losers chugged a bottle of beer every time they lost. She did not get to play since she couldn't drink.

Those who weren't playing walked around, bragging at every chance they got about how successful they were. Robert and Gloria sat at a small table playing draft and Henry was surrounded by those who wished to get on his good graces. A good number of them hoped they could climb on his bed tonight and get some benefits.

The chaotic energy in the room overwhelmed her. She walked up the spiral staircase that led to the balcony. The hotel had a large curved balcony that resembled a giant red wine glass. The walls were made of transparent glass that offered a magnificent view. A few potted plants on the balcony added some life to the otherwise boring space.

Sarah cast her eyes as far as she could see and took in the beauty of architecturally designed buildings that blended in perfect proportions with nature. A cool breeze blew across the balcony, bringing with it the fragrance of nature. She took a deep breath, filling her lungs with the refreshing air.

Heavy footsteps approaching behind her interrupted her precious moment. She turned around and the smile on her face faded as she saw Brandon walking towards her. "Mr. Lee, what are you doing here? Why did you leave your new girlfriend out in the cold?" Sarah said with her voice laced with sarcasm as she glanced at Brandon who followed her outside.

"Sarah, let's talk for a moment," he said, inching closer to close the gap between them.

"Between us, there is nothing to talk about." she flipped her curly hair, looking straight at his face. She exuded the confidence he'd never felt before and this kind of charm was unique to her. This version of her was so enchanting that it made him feel like he had met a totally different woman. It evoked a different kind of emotion in him that made him miss her more.

He couldn't help but pull her into an embrace. Holding that warm body next to him felt heavenly. He sniffed her hair, taking in that unique floral scent that belonged only to her. His cold lips met hers but she reacted fast and pushed him away, only leaving the lingering warmth in his hands.

He coughed before speaking, "Can we go back..."

"We can't."

"I'm giving you the last chance."

"Who do you think you are?" Sarah snapped, "Even if I loved you, it is not to the point where I will disrespect myself. In case you don't remember, it was you who did me wrong. It is not you who has a say about chances here." She narrowed her eyes and her voice chilled, "And when did I say I want another chance with you? I'd rather marry a random stranger than take back a man who can't keep it zipped"

"Sarah, stop this tantrum and get your act together! Our wedding is in three weeks. I've given you enough time to calm down." Brandon grabbed her hand tight as if afraid she would run away. He was running out of options to convince her because never believed Sarah would dare to leave him. Maybe the hard way would work.

"Our wedding?" Sarah laughed. "Are you an idiot? We already broke up."

"Sarah, are you not going to give me another chance?" he asked, his confidence wavering. Could it be really over? He did not want to believe it.

She looked straight into his eyes and said clearly, "All I know is that at the most difficult time in my life; you were busy screwing around with another woman. Brandon, I'm not dumb, you aren't either. Stop clinging to the past. I don't owe you anything and you don't either. But now, the way you are acting like you did nothing wrong is disgusting."

Brandon let go of her hand, looking at the unfamiliar woman standing in front of him. The gentle and docile girl he knew was nowhere to be seen. "Sarah... I think you've changed," he said after hesitating.
