AN: So....yeah. That has happened. Sorry for leaving you hanging for so long. On a cliffhanger no less! I am truly a horrible author to my readers.

But I come bearing gifts! Or A gift, anyway. A new chapter! 4.28k blissful Pythia glory. Or at least, I hope so. It has been a while since I've last written Fanfiction...
But this one's a TREAT, I promise.
I'll just say this: Teacher-Jin AND Teacher-Yoongi.
😏

Either way. Thank you for coming back to me. Enjoy!

(Oh, and you might want to recap Chapter 03, as we established....it's been a while. And this one is immediately continuing Chapter 03.)

"— you might know, there is not much to teach you in regard to health", Kim Seokjin toned on in his smooth voice, "Vampires feed on human blood and rarely get sick." Haewon was sure that almost two thirds of the class weren't paying attention to the teacher's words but rather daydreaming about him. And truly, she would have been at risk of that, too — he was devilishly handsome — if she wasn't so confused by what he was teaching.

Vampires only feeding on human blood? When had that come to be?
Her brows furrowed delicately. When she had last roamed the planes of the undead, vampires had fed off each other outside of nests as well. It mixed the human blood with the age of the vampire and thus made it more powerful a food source.

Haewon was utterly confused. Was that particular knowledge...lost? Lost over the centuries come and gone? But surely the Elders who were still around should remembe—
Oh. But of course.

Haewon's lips curled in a tiny snarl. Not teaching the masses that feeding off vampires could make one powerful, kept the Elders firmly in the spot of top-predator. They had always been power-hungry, deceiving harpies, after all.
How despicable.
And yet...the snarl on her lips turned into a tiny smile. Also definitely an advantage for her. Knowledge, in the end — even if it had trapped her in a tomb — had always been power.

"—for Physiology, we will learn mostly about humans, ital and how mate bonds influence a vampire and a nest as a whole."

Haewon returned to listen to her teacher...potential... — Mate!, the shadows screeched — Whatever. She was not in the mood to be friendly, not even within her own mind. Not after they had ripped off the precious gifts of her family and put away the tokens of friendship to who knows where, if even that.

Her fury about the remodelling of the rooms to fit classes had made her hunger burn and her mood spiral downward the longer she had to endure sitting in one. Here, where her memories of nights spend in splendid company overlapped with young brats sitting around her and listening to a teacher.
Nevermind the utter hostility radiating off of her dorm mate and mat—... Whatever!
Jeon Jungkook truly didn't seem to tolerate her one iota and Haewon was nowhere near indulgent enough to overlook it. She had wanted to live her life in peace after crawling out of that god-forsaken tomb. But this... This was simply spelling trouble. In capital letters. TROUBLE.
She really needed to get a look on the inscriptions in her tomb and preferably also fit a trip to the ancestral home of her bloodline in as well.
As soon as possible.

Her hands lifted so she could take another sip from her blood coffee, only to realise that it was already empty. Slight annoyance coursed through her for a moment, adding to her already bad mood. Her throat still itched with thirst.
Burning bright like hellfire. Screaming to be coated in thick, sirupy blood.
Thirsting for justice.

Ugh. How she loathed to be so weak. But she had to play this clever.
And that meant enduring thirst until she was strong enough to get out undetected and get her answers.
