Unsure (Coinpin fanfic)

Saturday part 1

Coiny's POV:
"Coiny...?" I hear a familiar voice whisper in my ear. I turn to lie on my back so I could see who it is. "Dime....??? Is that you...? It's..." I go to check the time on my phone. ".... 4 AM. What the hell do you want?" I whisper back to her groggily. "... Um, can I stay in here? Like on the floor or something?" She asks barely audible.
"Yeah, why?" I ask while sitting up.
"It's nothing, I just had a bad dream...." I sigh at her response and chuckle silently. I make space on the bed so that she could sit down. She sits down next to me before wrapping my blanket around her shoulders. "So what happened?" I say while stretching in an awkward position. Dime giggles but her smile quickly fades. "So uh, heh, what happened was... Coiny?"
"Yeah?" I say calmly.
"I'm not a scaredy cat or anything but it just really freaked me out, okay?" I chuckle bit at her response and jokingly roll my eyes.
"I know, you're like superrr brave and stuff!" I say sarcasticly. "Okay but seriously, whatever happened in your nightmare must have been scary enough for you to get out of bed...Why did you come to me and not Nickel by the way??"
"Because you're my favorite." My eyes widen.
"Really??" She nodded while laughing quietly. "YAY!!!! *happy rat noises*" I whispered loudly while pulling her into a hug. Like I'd expect, she pushed me away as usual. I chuckle at her unaffectionate personality. The only people she hugs is Mom and her friends on special occasions.
"Okay, so can we talk about your dream now?"
"Oh, yeah. Sure..." She said before proceeding to tell me. To sum up what happened, basically there was a huge nuclear explosion and she witnessed all of us burn to death while the whole world was set a flame. I didn't expect to be shaking in my boots afterwards but I sure am. "Oh jeez, Dime, that's, that's terrifying." I check the time on my phone again. 4:45 AM it read. My eyes widen from the brightness after being in the dark for so long. It wasn't pitch black since I had one small lamp on. She nods before hugging me with one arm. "So, I can stay?" She asks while letting go of me. "Sure! Just let me sleep, okay?" She nods. "Don't worry. I'm just as tired as you are."

*Time skip!*

I wake up to the sun blinding me as I slowly open my eyes. I stretch and sit up before rubbing my eyes. I look to my right to see Dime sleeping on the other side of the bed. If she were to move any further she would definitely fall off. I carefully get out of bed and slightly push her away from the edge. I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth before heading downstairs. "Happy Saturday morning!" My mom greets me while I'm halfway down the stairs. "Morning, Mom. Dime's still asleep." I say groggily. "So is Nickel! You're always the first to wake up. Well, besides me of course!" I lazily smile while reaching the end of the stairs. "So, what'd you and Pin do yesterday?"
"...what?"
"Remember she came over yesterday, silly!"
"OH-!" I facepalm. "Uh, nothing much. I guess we just talked the whole time." 
"That's cute." She replies with a devious giggle.
"Mom, please." I say with a certainly red face.
"I gotta start talking with Mrs. Thumbtack again."
"Are you still friends with her?"
"I think. I'll talk to her again soon."
"Sounds good! Want me to wake up Nickel and Dime?"
"That would be swell."

*Time skip*

It's 12:45 PM and I just finished eating lunch. I take a seat next to Nickel on the couch. "Pricetag told me they saw you and Pin flirting on the bus-"
"WHAT!?" I immediately sit up. "WHEN!?"
"Were you though??" He asks ignoring my questions.
"W-well,..."
"That's basically a yes." He says with a smirk. I sigh and explain what happened between Pin and I. Like I expected, he made fun of me for it and constantly made jokes about me and Pin for like thirty minutes. "Mom!! Nickel keeps being annoying!!! *Annoyed rat noises*"
"AT LEAST I'M NOT A RAT!"
"GRRR!! I'M NOT A RAT!!! *super angry rat noises*"
My mom shushes us. "The Goiky fair is open! You guys and Dime should go! Mrs. Thumbtack told me that Pin said she's only going if you guys do!" My mom suggests cheerfully. Nickel chuckles slightly. "Yeah, Coiny! We should definitely go." I give Nickel an annoyed look for the 78th time but then softly smile. I couldn't really argue since I did wanna go. "Alright, alright! You're watching Dime though!" Nickel rolls his eyes. "You're such a turd." He replies. I give him a thumbs up and go upstairs to tell Dime to get ready.

I pull out my phone while waiting for my siblings to get dressed and ready. I decide that I should probably text Pin even if she already found out we're going to the fair.

Text:

Coiny: holaaa!!! :D
Pin: hi 😁
Coiny: watcha doing
Pin: waiting for you
Coiny: r u already there???
Pin: yeah but it's only been 2 minutes
Coiny: oh. Ok :D
We are about to hit the road soon
Brb

I see Nickel coming downstairs with a sad expression. "I just remembered I had something planned with Pillow and Book today..." He says while rubbing the back of his neck. I nod with a frown. "That means I have to make sure Dime doesn't try to kill anyone." I whine half jokingly. "I know, I know! I'm sorry. Have fun with your girlfriend!" He replies smirking at the end. I roll my eyes and chuckles. "I sure will!" I say smugly.

"BARK BARK-!" I feel something grip my shoulders from behind.
"AHHH! *High pitch rat scream* DIME!!!" She giggles as I turn around to face her.
"I SHOULD'VE RECORDED THAT!! HAHAAHA! YOUR SCREAM WAS PERFECT!" She says between her laughter. I can't help but laugh as well. "Let's go! Pin is waiting for us!"

After ten minutes of walking we made it to the fair and met Pin at a nearby bench. She greets me and Dime with a hug. "Hello, Coiny! Hi, Dime!!" She says after hugging us while waving. "Well, hello~, love!" I say before kissing her hand. Her face flushes as she giggles nervously. "Thank-you-Coin-nee...!" I chuckle at her reaction. She's adorable. Dime loudly clears her throat. "What am I? A roach??" She says while crossing her arms. "You're pretty similar to one-!" I reply jokingly.

"Pin, PLEASE!?! It doesn't look that scary!" I say convincing Pin to go on the flat ride(a/n: if you don't know what a flat ride is...look it up) with me and Dime. "You chickened out on most of the rides. Could you please do this one?" I hold her wristwith both my hands. She looks to the side with a guilty expression.

Pin's POV:
I sigh knowing that I'm gonna end up going on that ride. I can't ever deny his cute pleading face. "Ugh, fine! You're so annoying!" I said slightly irritated. Dime and Coiny say 'yay!' in unison. Coiny takes my hand and basically drags me to the short line. He lets go of my wrist to place his hands on the bar gates. I dramatically groan and cross my arms in frustration. I really didn't want to go on the unnecessarily high up flat ride. "Chill, Pin." Dime said half jokingly. "You literally forced me to go on this stupid ride!" I exclaimed a bit too aggressively with an embarrassing voice crack. Dime flinches a bit since I did just abuse my vocal cords. "Sorry, Dime." I say in monotone. I look to my side and catch a glimpse of Coiny starring at the ride in awe. Why would anyone want to go on that!? I look back at Dime who also stopped making eye contact with me. I stare at the ground feeling a bit bad that I just yelled a 12 year old just because I'm a wimp. I didn't even apologize properly. "Pin," I look up at Dime with a face full of shame. "Y'know I'm not mad, right?"
"I know, I just feel bad for yelling at you."
"You're good!" She says cheerfully. I smile at her before focusing on the ground again. I suddenly feel something tug at my arm. "C'mon! We have to get on!" Coiny says excitedly while bouncing slightly. He's so cute. I sit between Coiny and Dime since I refuse to sit on the edge. I hold onto the bar for dear life, making sure that it was secure enough several times. Coiny's places his hand on top of mine. "Pin, relax." He says before kissing my cheek. My face heats up as I nervously giggle. Was that supposed to calm me down??? I take a deep breath as the ride begins to start moving slowly eventually going higher and higher. Meanwhile, Coiny looks like he's having the best time of his life as Dime is hyping him up.

After they get off the ride:

I stumble clumsily and quickly try to get out of the seat with the help of Coiny who's holding my hands for support. Once I fully get out I trip over an air molecule because of how dizzy I am. "AGH-!" I squeeze my eyes shut preparing to fall until I feel like I hit something other than the ground. I open my eyes to see Coiny smiling down at me while I'm in his arms. I smile back awkwardly with a flushed face before getting back on my feet. "Th-thanks...heh." My vision starts to clear after I rub my eyes. Me, Coiny and Dime walk out of the line to find somewhere to eat. I was promised ice cream if I went on another ride later. I take Coiny's hand and intertwine our fingers tightly. "What flavor do you want?" He asked me. "Umm, maybe-" I cut myself off and stop walking.

Completely frozen.

About twelve feet away.

A familiar dress.

A familiar face.
