The quiet night seemed to deepen as Ruby's words settled into the air.

Their significance stretching between them like a bridge they'd never dared to cross before.

Zach's gaze lingered on her, his hand instinctively tightening around hers as the realization of her question, of what she truly meant, sank in.

They both turned slightly, faces now only inches apart, the warmth of her touch grounding him in a way nothing else could.

For a moment, Ruby closed her eyes, as if gathering her courage, and leaned closer.

It was just a soft kiss on his cheek, gentle and fleeting, but it felt like a spark, lighting something within him that he hadn't known he'd kept hidden.

When she drew back, her cheeks flushed with a mixture of bashfulness and bravery, she looked away, biting her lip.

But Zach wasn't about to let the moment pass.

With a softness that belied his usual composure, he lifted his hand, gently brushing a stray strand of hair from her face before leaning forward.

His lips met her forehead in a tender kiss that lingered, his touch warm and reassuring.

It was an unspoken promise—

A silent vow whispered against her skin.

She closed her eyes, leaning into him.

Her breath hitching as he pulled back just slightly.

And then, as if drawn together by an unseen thread, their eyes met once more, and he leaned in, bridging the last of the distance between them.

His lips found hers in a kiss that was both delicate and profound.

As though they were rediscovering something long lost—

Something precious and irreplaceable.

The warmth of their connection felt like the calm after a storm, a quiet certainty that settled deep within them.

When they finally pulled back, both of them were smiling, soft and shy, yet full of a happiness they hadn't allowed themselves to hope for before.

The stars above continued their gentle drift, casting a soft glow over them, making the moment feel timeless.

Zach looked at her, his gaze unwavering, and there was something new in his eyes—

A tenderness that she knew was only for her.

Without a word, Ruby nestled into his side, her head resting on his shoulder as they returned their gazes to the horizon, their hands intertwined.

The future felt uncertain—
