Blossoming Bonds
In the bustling city of Midgar, amidst the remnants of a world recovering from the scars of war, Cloud Strife stood tall, his spiky blonde hair a stark contrast against the gray backdrop of the city. He was a mercenary, a former SOLDIER, haunted by memories of his past and driven by a sense of duty to protect those he cared about.
Y/N was a newcomer to Midgar, drawn to the city by a sense of adventure and a desire to make a difference. They found themselves caught up in the turmoil of the world, their path intertwining with Cloud's in unexpected ways.
Aerith Gainsborough, a flower merchant with a mysterious past, had taken a keen interest in Y/N from the moment they arrived in Midgar. She saw something special in them, a spark that ignited her curiosity. And she couldn't help but notice the way Cloud's eyes lingered on Y/N whenever they were together.
One day, as Y/N was browsing through Aerith's flower cart, Aerith couldn't contain her excitement any longer. "You know, Y/N," she began with a mischievous glint in her eye, "I think Cloud might have feelings for you."
Y/N's eyes widened in surprise. "What? No way! Cloud's just... well, Cloud."
Aerith chuckled softly. "Trust me, I can see it in the way he looks at you. He may not show it, but he cares about you deeply."
Y/N shook their head, trying to brush off Aerith's words. But deep down, a seed of doubt had been planted in their mind.
Later that day, Y/N found themselves on a mission with Cloud, fighting against the remnants of Shinra's forces. As they battled side by side, Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that Aerith's words were true. Cloud fought with a fierceness that spoke volumes, his gaze never straying far from Y/N's side.
After the battle, as they caught their breath amidst the rubble of the city, Y/N finally mustered up the courage to confront Cloud.
"Hey, Cloud," they began hesitantly, "there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
Cloud turned to face them, his expression unreadable. "What is it, Y/N?"
Taking a deep breath, Y/N blurted out the words before they could second-guess themselves. "I... I think I have feelings for you."
For a moment, there was silence as Cloud processed their confession. Then, to Y/N's surprise, a small smile tugged at the corners of Cloud's lips.
"I... I think I feel the same way," he admitted softly, his gaze meeting theirs with a vulnerability that took Y/N's breath away.
As the realization sunk in, Y/N couldn't help but smile back, feeling a sense of warmth spreading through their chest. And in that moment, amidst the chaos of the world around them, they knew that they had found something precious—a connection that transcended the boundaries of war and fate.
With Aerith's knowing smile watching over them from afar, Cloud and Y/N embarked on a new chapter of their journey together, their hearts entwined as they faced whatever challenges the future held.
