Chapter VIII

After talking to Claude, the girl returned to the place where she had been standing with Vivienne. Her friend was already there.

"What did you find out?" Camille asked.

"I'm not sure... I talked to a member of the Silver Corporation, but he looked a little different than the others. Anyway, he asked me for help and I'm supposed to meet him there at seven." Vivienne pointed out.

"You've talked to a member of the corporation that's after you?" She asked surprised.

"I didn't know that at first. Besides, he didn't seem to recognize me. What about you? Did you find out anything?"

"Not really... I talked to the head of LF Corporation, but he was giving rather evasive answers..."

"I'm already here." A voice suddenly said in the earphone. "Did I miss something?"

"No." Camille replied. "But Vivi was recruited to help a member of the Silver Corporation."

"So they showed up after all..." He said to himself. "Vivienne, did he introduce himself to you?"

"Yes. His name is Ciel." She replied.

"This is their boss..." Theo took a deep breath.

"Oh... but I guess he didn't recognize me, so it's good. Besides, by helping him, maybe I'll learn something about LF Corporation, since I got the impression that he doesn't like them." The girl explained.

"Okay..." The man sighed. "But take care of yourself. Camille, help her."

"Seriously? I didn't think about it. If you have any doubts, that's what I intended to do." The girl replied.

"That's all? Because we're a little busy." Vivienne said.

"Yeah." He replied briefly.

"So what? Shall we go for a drink?" She smiled and looked expectantly at Camille.

"Definitely." She replied with a smile and they both headed to the table with colorful cocktails.

They each took one and at the same time took their first sip.

"That's what I needed." Camille said, enjoying the taste.

"Yeah." Her friend agreed.

"We still have half an hour until 7." She announced, drinking her drink.

"What?" Vivienne was surprised. "I thought there was more time left..."

"Well, it passed quickly, and so far we haven't learnt much..." She said disappointedly, finishing her drink. Her friend was also standing with an empty glass.

"Another one?" Vivienne asked, hoping Camille would agree.

"Nobody has been hurt after two cocktails, right?" She laughed, and they both reached for another beverage.

"Actually, we don't have anything to do until 7..." She said, taking a sip. "I wonder what Ciel came up with..."

"Well, I hope we won't have any problems because of him." Camille replied, slightly worried.

Unfortunately, the girls didn't know they already had a problem, because their presence at the party was no longer a secret. While talking and sipping their drinks, Camille and Vivienne didn't notice how quickly the time had passed and it was the time to meet the head of the Silver Corporation. The man was already waiting. The girls approached him together, making him look a t Camille quite suspiciously.

"This is Maxime." Vivienne smiled. "I talked to her when you left me earlier and she'll be happy to help."

"Okay..." Ciel replied, still a little suspicious, but decided to let it go. He didn't think any girl would get in his way or be a problem for him.
