I stared into my window. The grey clouds moved slowly, as the heavens drops a beautiful drizzle.
"I wonder how its like to be a queen. Being adorned with a crown and luxurious gown." I told Elliot.
He glanced towards me.
"I bet, that you would be a great ruler..." Elliot sighed.
I smiled at him and looked back at the sky.
I started my breakfast. Munching on my chicken while, Elliot was eating biscuits with fries.
"...Elliot?.. Agh ow.." A pain shot right through my nose. "What happened to me?" I whimpered.
Elliot handed me some medicine and herbal tea.
"Oh, you got some radiation, Antonella."
"What? How?" I looked at the cup. "Bleh. I don't like tea."
"Drink it. You'll feel better, I promise.
"....Hmm." I pouted. I laid down on the hospital bed. Flashbacks shot through my head. Seventh graders laying in their own blood. Their classrooms were closer to the entrance. Dandelion crying as her younger sister's body grew cold.
I rose up from my bed. "No!"
"What is it?" Elliot looked at me with worry.
I remember witnessing Zachary bleeding from his mouth, screaming to be freed as his wrist were tied up. Candy covering her ears as the bomb went off. She faints from the noise and capacity. Then I had a displeasing flashback of Charlie. "Oh no!" I yelped.
"Antonella!?"
I saw Charlie pushing people, like he was looking for someone. I whispered, "No, not Charlie. Not my cousin!"
My cousin screamed, "Where's my cousin?! ...Antonella!... Antonella! You bastards better not touch her!" My cousin. My little cousin... My baby cousin?" He screamed with all his might, "ANTONELLAA!"
I remembered about what happened at school. I took a big breath.
"Mngh! THE SCHOOL! Why did they.. what happened?"
Elliot's eyes widened in sympathy.
"What did you see, Antonella?!"
My face grew grim and my eyes went meek. "Puddles of blood.. children ... death, pain. Our friends. My own cousin. Aghh!" I covered my face in agony.
"Shh. Okay? Your safe. It's all over..."
"No, you don't get it! He was looking for me. Charlie was worried about me. In the midst of it all... he was still worried over me. He still thought about me..." My head faced down as my tears streamed away.
"..." Elliot pulled me towards his chest and pinned me close to his face.
"When I was worried about you.. he.." I cried, "Charlie was worried over me."
"Antonella, I found out, while you were passed out.. My... my sister was already in the hospital when I found you. She.. she was one of the first victims of the explosions..."
I gasped.
"Sydney was already in danger? Even before the whole school knew..!"
He glared into the ceiling. "Yep. It had to be her. My own sister had to experience it first."
"....Oh dear God.... I'm so sorry."
He sighed, "What matters is that she's alive."
"But, what happened to her?"
"She.. she just fainted. She'll be okay."
Little did he know.
