Elliot and I ate our school lunch inside our classroom. Elliot sat next to me, as usual, watching the scenery from the windows and shaking his leg. His hand was placed on his cheek to hold his head. He just finished his soup.
Out of boredom, I'm guessing, Elliot got up and paced across our class. Grunts can be heard.
I watched as the wind caused the petals to fall, while eating my burrito. To my delight, it began to rain. I clapped, "Yay!"
"You must love the weather today, right?" Elliot mumbled. He may recalled all the times I ran outside during the rain and happily jump on the puddles.
Elliot continued to pace around the classroom, and I began to sing the tune of My Midnight Radio by Taffy. Suddenly, Elliott eyed me. Causing me to instinctively freeze.
"No. Keep singing. You're voice is beautiful... its always been."
I grinned at the compliment. To think that Elliot approves of my voice.
"Aww thanks. I didn't know you liked my voice."
"..." he looked down, "I'm very sorry for never telling you, you know I love every thing about you."
My face turned red, "Elliot! My heart explodes when you say stuff like that!"
"I speak my mind." He said, looking away with a blush.
I opened my mouth and sang,
"I can't wait another day, without you I'm crazy."
In the corner of my eye, Elliot was watching me, and I saw his eyes twinkle.
I jumped, "Woah oh my God! The DJ after midnight! Woah oh my God! A midnight radio!"
As danced towards him. I swing his hands with mine, he finally smiled.
"Antonella..." he smirked, "who am I without you?""Hey guys." Timothy said as he walked inside the classroom.
"Hey, cousin." I said, then nudged Elliot's elbow to indicate him to greet my cousin.
".... H-hi." he said, not making eye contact with Charlie. I shook my head.
I put down the mug that had a photo of Charlie and I as kids. I brought it from home alongside my homemade meal.
"So I read on the schools website, posted by the school committee that, we're having a field trip today to Fiumicino!" I said.
"Wow nice! Isn't that 40 minutes away? I wonder what fun things we'll do there! Mmm I'm so excited!" Charlie cheered.
"I know right!! I love field trips! Field trips! Field trips!" I danced.
We both started shaking our hands in unision and cheered, "Field trips, field trips!!"
Elizabeth sat behind me, eating her macaroni and cheese. She turned to Angelica and Craig, "those two are adorable, aren't they?"
Angelina gawked, "they're both so lively, I guess it runs in the family."
" Are all the Marshes this cheerful and cute?" Henry added palming his cheeks.
"I wish I had family like them." Craig sighed.
The bell rang and our teacher, Mr. Nakamoto, walked in, "alright children, take your seats"
"I have very exciting news for you guys! Our school, alongside every school in Rome, will have... a field trip!"
I squirmed in excitement. The class cheered before waiting in anticipation. OMG, where are we going this time?
"This field trip will be held at a facility in Fiumuncino, this is important because the state will check, examine your skills and your specific abilities from your class."
"Woohoo!" Matt punched the air, "hey, Antonella, do you think you'll get to show off your totally awesome wings this time?"
"Yeah, since you're fifteen now, you're wings are bigger, right? Can we see?" Owen asked.
"Yeah, Ace-nella, show us your wings! Pretty please?" Craig added.
The boys begged, "Pretty please, Antonella!"
"Sure, I'm shocked to hear you guys care so much about my wings, they're like my babies." I grinned.
"Gosh, boys only care about looks. I can already see them drool all over her body." Candy mumbled.
"You're just saying that because your jealous!" Elizabeth said
"Yeah, a whore like you is always the center of attention." Angelica laughed.
Henry asked me, "Hey, love, bare me a minute and explain to me, why all these gentlemen fancy your wings?
"Hmm, well it's because Angels are royalty in Italy. We run this country. So seeing an angel's wings is like seeing history and power, itself. All the boys are obsessed that stuff. So they tend to geek about me. Ya know, being the only female angel in this school."
"And why can't you just open them now, love?"
"Oh, when I open my wings, it can cause a distraction! Last time I opened them during class, everyone couldn't stop staring."
"I see. A young ladies wings are quite pleasant, love. Yours truly must be marvelous,"
I smiled at Henry, "Thank you. I plan to show them to you, Henry! I'll be honored to have a prince lay eyes on my wings!"
"Yes, it would be quite the experience! I cannot wait!" Henry clapped his hands in excitement.
"Yeah, Antonella's wings are so cool! They make her look extra cute, not gonna lie," Orange chimed.
"Careful there, Elliot is going to burst into flames," Candy chuckled.
"Aw, lighten up, Elliot probably loves to see Antonella open up her wings, too." Matt said.
Craig added, "In fact, I think he loves them more than we do,"
"Who can blame him, our little angel, Antonella is so beautiful," Owen sighed.
My face was super red by now. Hearing the boys compliment my wings, made me feel pampered and appreciated. I'm grateful for having friends who admire me. I glanced towards Elliot. He had his arms crossed and eyes furrowed.
Orange put his arm around Elliot, "Right, Elli-boi, you love Antonella's wings, huh?" he said using his baby voice.
"Don't touch me." Elliot said, stoic.
"Elliot loves Antonella! Elliot loves Antonella," Dandelion sang.
Elliot grunted, turning away and he closed his eyes.
"Alright class settle down," Mr. Nakamoto said waving his hands up and down.
Candy snickered," Ha, we all totally know that Elliot is basically inlove with Antonella."
I froze in my seat. I was speechless.
"That is very obvious." Elizabeth said.
"If my feelings are so obvious then why don't you all shut up about it?" Elliott huffed. His face was pink, and his eyes avoided my gaze. I watched him, seeing if he was okay. I know Elliot doesn't stand harmless teasing. I know he's annoyed.
My own relative sighed, "Gee, Possente how can you stand Elliot...?"
"Opposites attract." Craig mumbled.
I replied, "Timothy."
"Antonella is the only person who I trust. She's the most patient and understanding person I've ever met. That's why she hasn't left my side. She is much more wise and kinder than you, Marsh. Antonella can stand me because unlike all of you, she has the heart to love me. If you're wondering, Marsh, let me make it clear. Antonella is better than you.""Anderson, calm down. Class let's get back to topic. We'll be leaving tomorrow via bus. You all will first meet in the front of the school for a head count. Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks, of course. I will tell you the rest when we arrive! We will be staying there for a whole day. 9am until 6pm. Any questions?"
"No sir." Almost everyone said.
Candy raised her hand, "what kind of test are there, exactly?"
"I can't tell you yet! We don't have that information just yet! Must be a surprise." Mr. Nakamoto answered. Oh, my homeroom teacher, is a vampire. He stopped drinking blood since he was a kid, though. He doesn't really need it. He's also not nocturnal anymore. Since becoming a teacher, he has a regular sleep schedule. Basically he's just a human with fangs and red eyes.
