After my short walk, I am finally back home. I plop my key in the bowl near the door, take my cape off, remove my hat and un snap my bra. I mean why cage these bad boys in the comfort of my own home? Let them free!
"Charlie!" I call
Around the corner comes my cute grey and white Chinese crested puppy trotting in to see me. "How is the cutest dog to ever step paw on this earth?" I say in my high pitched baby voice I use only when communicating with him. If some one even caught me talkin like this I would drop dead from embarrassment.
I adopted Charlie from the local pound. I hadn't planned on adopting na animal that day but the lady next door to me owned the pound. One day we shared an elevator going down to the lobby. She told me about a dog that had been there for a little over six months and how they have the 6 month policy: if they don't have a home they got to go. This broke my heart. Being the kind person that I am I went down to the pound with her and checked out the puppy. I understood why he had no luck finding a home. Even though I call him the cutest dog in the world just to boost his self esteem, he is easily the ugliest. But when I looked into those deranged eyes there was no way I could say no. We had some type of connection. I took him home that day and realized that he is one of the sweetest loveable dogs God has created. You just have to get past the wild eyes, the discoloration of his skin, the stragily hair that grows in random places, the... ya know imma just stop there.
"Do you know what time it is?" I suddenly ask. His ears shoot up knowing good and well what time it is.
"ITS DINNER TIME"
Charlie erupts in a fanfare of joyful howls and barks, scampering across the floor into the kitchen, tail waging.
When Charlie finishes devouring his meal, he is fast asleep on the end of my bed just like everyday right on schedule. I walk across the bedroom to my mahaghony dresser and change into some marvel pj shorts and a plain white tee. I swivel around to look at the clock located next to the tv.
10:47?!
How did time slip away from me that quickly? I still had to edit my main channel video and my daily vlog. It takes me about a good 2 hours to edit my main channel videos to my liking and about 30 minutes for the vlogs. Looks as if I will be pulling an all nighter once again.
I scramble into bed laptop in hand trying to wake Charlie from his noisy snore filled slumber. Before pulling the covers onto me I have to remove my leg. I press down on the pin located above the metal ankle and simply slide it off the socket connected to the lining, removing that as well. I sigh in relief and place the leg on the well next to my night table and the rest of my legs. and settle into the warmth of my bed.
I reach for the remote and press the power button switching on the flat screen mounted on my white wall. I scim and scam the numerous amount of pointless apps till I get to the only one that matters. Netflix. I go to my recently watched playlist and resume the last watched episode of Orange is the New Black.
I interview my finger and stretch them out in the opposite direction of me setting off a series cracks. I was ready to work.
"Alright let's do this." I mutter to myself as I open my laptop bringing up my editing software final cut pro.
Halfway through the episode and 30 seconds of the first video edited, my eyelids fail on me and I give into my battle to stay awake.
