I woke up in the middle of the night, as I felt Damion's warmth suddenly fade away. I rubbed my eyes and turned around to where he had been laying. His resting spot was empty, only the wrinkled sheets were proof that he had been there. A chill ran up my spine, and a breeze wafted in from my window seat. It was left wide open. My mind began forming images of him hanging from a rope in the middle of a large room. Then of him being tied to a post and burning. Finally I saw a mental image of him bruised and bloodied, and a dark towering figure stood behind him with a spiked whip. If something had happened to him, if he had been kidnapped. I couldn't live with myself if he was gone.
I walked to the window seat and sat on my soft, purple cushions. I stared out the window and watched the wind sway along the trees. I felt my throat become tight, as tears threatened to pour from my eyes. I pulled a pillow close and buried my face into it. My legs still hurt from my previous kidnapping, and I was sure that I had to have been overreacting. But I could not keep, my disgusting emotions in check. Within minutes I was sobbing into the pillow. Swearing that if anything hurt him, it would wither in the underworld. I finally felt someone pull me into a strong embrace. "What's wrong Miyuki?" I heard Damion whisper against my head.
I clutched his black T-shirt and began sobbing uncontrollably. I couldn't stop myself, those images were stuck in my head and toying with my emotions. "Don't-don't leave me," I eventually mumbled between sobs. His grip on me became slightly tighter. "Okay, I promise that I won't go to the bathroom again," he replied, sounding confused. He leaned back against some pillows, and pulled me close. "You're okay, I got you," he reassured, as his hand ran up and down my back, in a slow sweeping motion. I was finally able to stop crying. I lifted my head and glanced down at him. "You really only went to the bathroom? You aren't injured at all?" I asked, noticing the specs of green embedded in his iris.
He gave me a concerned glance. "I'm perfectly fine. Are you okay? What's with this sudden concern for me?" he questioned, appearing more worried by the second. "It's nothing. I'm fine now," I replied, lying straight to his face.
~~~~~~Two years ago~~~~~~
Kai struck me across my face, faster than I could react. "I told you that boy is a danger to my whole plan, he's an unknown variable, and you are to stay away from him!" Kai lashed out at me. That time was different than his usual threats, this time he decided to beat the spirits out of me. He zapped me with lightning, and kicked me multiple times. I fumed with anger, and as I stood flames of my dark magic spiraled around my whole body, covering me like armor. Kai stumbled back and his facial features contorted in shock. "I have listened to you for far too long. I have dealt with your insolence, and your pride. And it is by the grace of Creator Flow, that I have not killed you where you stand. I am done being your weapon, to manipulate and use. Leave now," I commanded as my voice shook the ground.
Kai's face flooded with regret, but he understood that I was serious, and quickly teleported away. As I calmed down the flames dissipated, and I fell against the ground, hard. I pushed myself over and laid on my back, breathing heavily. Damion hopped down from a nearby tree, and laid beside me. "Took you long enough, Remind me not to make you angry," He stated, dully. I sighed. But inwardly I felt a huge burden lifted off my shoulders. It was funny how much I couldn't control my emotions, when it came to Damion. I would never stand up for myself, but I was angry enough to stand up for him.
