A/N: Uhhh, Max really loves slapping people. Also idk why but suddenly I feel like updating this story a lot so, enjoy that while it lasts. Also I'm not trying to shoehorn in a non-binary character but I love writing queer characters bc I'm actually transmasc (he/they) so yeah. Anyways, enjoy the chapter! <3

With everything that'd been happening, Justice was becoming increasingly overwhelmed.

Jaime was mad at her, because of that she was unsure if she was about to lose her friend she's known since they were in diapers or not,

and to top it all off, Bernard had planned for them an inspection that same day.

This time it was woodworks department, and they'd start off with the machinery. Like she had the first day that she had ever properly worked with Bernard, she would walk around with him with a clipboard in hand, several papers one under the other for each machine, to make any notes they may need about the machines within the woodwork department.

She was anxious, so very, very anxious. Anyone could tell by the fretful expression carved into her face. Should anything else happen, she was sure to crumble, and she was afraid that from Bernard's confrontation with Jaime, that his patience had been worn thin.

So, they approached that place again - the same place where Justice was almost hurt that morning - strike one.

It was loud, as per usual. It had to be, what with such intensive work, people saw wood into workable pieces, people drilling into those pieces and driving nails into them with hammers, bang! Bang! Bang! - strike two.

Naturally, Bernard would first approach the head of the department - an elf by the name of Felix Ivy. Justice only knew Felix because they were one of the only other openly queer elves within the factory, sporting loud and proud on their work overalls a few badges - one that said "they/them", as well as the non-binary and bisexual flags respectively. As a fellow m-spec, a pansexual lady, and a casual she/they user simply because using "they" felt kinda nice sometimes, it was refreshing to see someone else unashamedly expressing themselves when she initially was afraid to do so, and like all the heads of any departments, they were excellent at their job. Though, Justice wouldn't go out of her way to show off her pansexuality through badges, she simply wouldn't hide it.

(This is what I think Felix would look like!!)

"Afternoon, Felix," Bernard greeting, the elf spinning around at their name being called as they gave him and Justice a casual smile.
"Ah, Bernard, Justice," they greeted, chipper as ever as they put down the piece they were working on, wiping the sweat from their forehead. "You're here for the inspection, yeah?"
"Correct," Bernard said, matter of factly. "I see you two already know each other."
"Just acquaintances," Justice told him, a meek smile to her face. "I-it's nice to see you again, Felix."
"Likewise," they beamed, their big smile radiant as ever.
"We'd like to have a look at all of the machines, if you don't mind," Bernard told them. "Just to make sure everything's running smoothly."
"Oh, of course. Follow me," they instructed, waving for the two of them to follow behind as they walked over to the table saws. "For the most part, everything seems to be working just fine - except for this one back here."
