With the help of Max, Justice managed to track down Jaime while the lunch hour was still around.

Justice wasn't nearly as nervous as she had been that morning, especially with her golden retriever best friend at her side helping her find the boy, but naturally she was still anxious to see him, especially after the encounter she had had with him that same morning.

When they went looking for him where he'd usually eat lunch - in the delivery dept breakroom - they didn't find him. They asked his friends where he was, and they said that he went for a walk, said that he needed some air and time to himself. Justice felt her heart sink a little at the revelation, but as she looked up at Max, the girl nodded for her to follow along, and they'd walk around outside to try and find him.

It was important that she spoke to him - she wasn't about to throw centuries worth of friendship down the drain over a petty fight.

Justice and Max ventured outside, scanning the surroundings for any sign of Jaime. The fresh air provided a welcome respite from the confined spaces of the factory, but Justice couldn't fully appreciate it with the weight of her unresolved conversation with Jaime hanging over her.

They walked in silence for a while, their footsteps echoing on the pavement as they searched for their friend. Justice's mind raced with thoughts of what she would say to Jaime when they found him.

As they turned a corner, they spotted Jaime sitting alone on a bench, his head bowed and his hands clasped tightly together. He looked lost in thought, his expression a mix of frustration and sadness.

Max nudged Justice gently, silently urging her to approach Jaime. Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, Justice walked over to him, her heart pounding in her chest.

Quietly, with a fist to her mouth, she cleared her throat.

"...hey, Jaime," she began, just above a whisper, her voice nothing but a little squeak. "Can we talk?"

Despite the fact that she tried to use her confident voice, Jaime didn't respond. He didn't even look up at her, didn't acknowledge her in any way whatsoever. She felt a pang of disappointment ring out through her body, but she couldn't give up now like she usually would. She had come too far, further than she typically got.

So, again, she cleared her throat, and tried again.

"Jaime? Can we please talk?"

Again, there was a silence. This time, however, there was a response.
