I held my arms and gently crossed them. I began to bite down on my lip as we both stood there about five feet apart, letting the air stagnate between us. I breathed out a pent-up sigh and stepped between my feet as I held myself, I didn't know what to do. My heart paced with a mind of its own as Koda stared at me, he had my full attention and yet didn't seem to want to say a word despite him saying so to Lelita.
The Hybrid was taking slow deep breaths, his lips were slightly parted and I noticed his on-guard sense about him had seemed to fade as he rolled his shoulders back in a smooth and relaxed motion.
But suddenly he took a soft step forward, the movement instinctually made me shuffle back but I caught myself. I was inwardly swearing at myself for the awkward stance I made. He stopped and the Hybrid's eyes widened a little, I guess he was not expecting my sudden agitation, and neither was I honestly...
But... after last night... with the images, I couldn't shake out of my head... I was still wary despite my best efforts not to be for Koda's sake.
He away turned on his heel for a little, thinking to himself with his eyes searching for some memory. Then, he turned his face away and looked to the floor but held his hand out towards me.
"I want to look at your arm." His deep voice rolled out.
His voice caught me off guard, it felt so... unnatural for him to speak, I think he felt the same way about it too. I hesitate a little as his request wasn't a question, not even in the tone of an ask. I brushed my fingers over my bandages and looked down, I didn't want Lelita's handiwork to go to waste as she did such a fine job bandaging me up, but as I looked back to Koda I saw something I hadn't gaged before in the Hybrid... it was a softness in his eyes, paired with a sympathetic pleading in the slight raise of his black brows.
It was a look of worry.
I then nodded my head.
Koda gently reached his hand out towards my arm, slow and more patient than I had expected. He takes another slow step forward and I don't fall back this time, finding my nerves settling under his gentle and kind way of approaching me. I watch as he places his rather big hand on my bandaged arm and finds a way to unwrap them, My heart was pounding like a drummer at a metal concert, and the fact that he knew of this was making me slightly turn away with a rise of hot blush across my cheeks.
My arm starts to tingle as the pressure of the bandage loosens and there the long cuts can be seen once again.
Koda's nostrils start flaring, and he exhales a very deep haggard breath at the sight. I look up at him and his eyes narrow, the corner of his lip curling up in - what I have now come to have learned - was his feline-esque way of showing distaste. His eyes were sombre and full of emotion.
"It's not that bad, really, I-"
Before I could say anything more, Koda took my arm up to his face and inspected it closely, Although the motion was quick and sudden it was gentle. He snuck his left arm around my shoulder in a supportive fashion, his thumb pressed into a nice spot on the back of my shoulder that I couldn't stop thinking about. As he took closely to my injured arm, it looked like he just had to see from every angle to truly see that the cuts, were long but were not very deep at all. Like he had to see it so closely to believe it. Just when I thought he was going to put my arm back down, his eyes flashed over, a new sense of colour to them...
And then... began to lick my wounds.
I froze with the complete incapability to do anything but watch as he started to draw his tongue over my wounds. His brushes were short, delicate and the slightest bit ticklish as he did well to grace over my cuts, leaving no part untouched by him. His eyes were half-lidded as he did this, seeming to be in an altered state of focus throughout all this.
I started to find my voice again when Koda looked up at me, taking curious notice of my phase of rendered shock.
"Trust me," he mumbled in a husky voice. The Hybrid then took the bandages that set loosely on my arm and began to wrap them up tight over me again, his hands worked over me in such a considerate and pleasing way I completely almost forgot about the whole ordeal that just unfolded.
The rush of embarrassment to my cheeks was overwhelming and I was squirming in a sense of humiliation. I panted a bit louder than necessary but I felt as though my breath escaped me.
As my bandages were tight and firm, Koda placed his hands upon them and rubbed the wrapping with the tips of his thumbs, he leaned down to me, his eyes begging for contact with mine.
"It will heal better now..." He gently let go of my arm, and I held it to my chest. Still feel the coolness beneath the bandages. I find his eyes and see there's an earnestness in them, he had not done this in a sense of perversion but for he saw was a genuine way to help me... even though his actions were rather... affectionate... in nature.
"I uh... I" I stutter, still recovering from the overwhelming heat that flushed me at this moment. I had to get over the more shameless thoughts in my head and just see the kindness he had shown me. But god, it was so hard.
I take a deep breath in, finding the vague hint of a smile on my face. "Thank you... Koda." It was such a weird thing to be thankful for... but... I was... something about what he did was soothing, and I felt as though some previous pain had dispersed from this interaction.
Koda's cheeks seemed to fill out a little, hiding his eyes just slightly... it was kind of like a... smileless grin? at least some kind of facial expression that exuded some kind of pleasant sentiment. But it was only there for less than a second before it faded. His hand started to reach for me and he held my hand with a feather-light touch as if it wasn't even there at all.
"(Y/N)," As he spoke my name... for the first time, I shuddered. The hybrid leaned closer to me, and I found myself in the world of his strange golden eyes. "I want to know you, not hurt you."
The Hybrid looked towards the dining room doors, and I was able to catch the shape angle of his jaw. I watched Adam's apple bob up and down in a swallow before he turned back to me.
The sun had started to rise through the blue of dawn and lightness had come into the room, a stream of sun caught Koda's face, shining from the right eye down to his lip. The light shining on that eye had made that golden colour lighter and fresher, radiating with that strange sun-kissed topaz glow.
His grip on my hand tightened slightly before he let go, just softly touching my fingers with his own.
"I will never hurt you again."
