Project Tombstone: - Recording Entry 24 - (Linked Medical Record)
Melissa's vitals have been stabilised and the condition has been positively progressing since being placed in an induced state. The healing factor of the hybridisation gene is taking effect quickly, most of the internal bleeding has stopped by way of the body prioritising the organs and surrounding muscles before the surface areas of the mauling, and now the cuts have stuck together without the need for stitches, only light reddened marks remain.
The process of a Hybrid's distinct healing abilities has always been something I've wanted to observe since being with the NSA. And it is incredible, I just wish I never had to witness it in this way...
I thought I'd never see the wild part of her again, I thought I'd shut it out of her. But she's always been so resilient.
I have been careless, and yet, I don't think there could have been more I could have done. I should have done something else to implement the transformation blockers, but, from what she said to me about them... and the painful restriction she feels... I've been too cruel to her, I'm making her live the same way she was moulded to by him... how they were all moulded to be.
Oh, Melissa. I hope to see you awake soon. You are so important to me, more than you could ever imagine. You are the reason I am here today and I promise that you will never face harm again, please be patient with me, my child. It was all too close for comfort.
It seems these recent happenings have transpired out of pure luck and coincidence. It almost makes me wonder if I'm truly a man of science after all, for it seemed like a miracle after (Y/N) fainted into Koda's arms, that the hybrid had stopped his attack to realise that this place was safe... that I intended to reverse my doings at the NSA and to keep him from their harm.
I have forewarned the two friends and the park ranger of the irritability they will soon face in having to surround themselves with Koda. I mentioned that Koda would soon warm up to them, for they aren't his rivals. I only asked that they remain calm this morning, if they become too nervous, it would only put him further on edge.
Although he does not have my full trust (And probably never will), Koda has done well to steadily adapt to the situation. This observant tolerance and openness to my assistance for Lelita, Ojwang and (Y/N), is a mature sign of mutual understanding. His careful eyes are always studying, assessing my intentions at every second...
Naturally, he doesn't like it when I'm more than six feet between Lelita Makena and her son... especially not close to (Y/N). I'm sure his senses pick up that neither I or anyone else here is a threat, so I believe he is just acting this way out of spite for the past experiences we have shared at the NSA.
I wish I changed things back then for I always had the power to do so... But I was brainwashed... I ̶w̶a̶s̶ i̶n̶ ̶l̶o... enough of the past.
Hopefully, the next time I type on this keyboard, we will be getting closer to putting the NSA to an end, and Melissa will wake from her slumber fully recovered. Only in one of these outcomes am I confident, but for now, it's enough to believe in miracles...
