39: Quintessence

The sun rose on the second day of Business Summit. It was a buzz of activity. We all gathered in the activity area for a three-hour seminar. Akala ko ay aantukin ako sa magaganap, ngunit napakagagaling ng mga lecturer at trainor na nagsalita sa stage.

Successful entrepreneurs and executives came to share their wisdom and experiences. They shared inspiring tales of innovation, revealed their stories of failure, and gave tips on starting and running a business. After the lecture, we did some hands-on workshops on the topics like marketing, finance, and management. Marami akong natutunan na alam kong magagamit ko balang araw.

"I hate long lectures, but I enjoyed the seminar earlier," said Audrey.

"Me too!" Maze followed.

Kumain kami ng tanghalian sa isang restaurant na nasa loob lang rin ng resort. It's called City Seafood, and their best selling dish was grilled octopus and creamy crabs, which we ordered for lunch.

"Let's explore the booth area after this," suggested Colton.

"That's a good idea," I agreed.

"Sorry, I can't join you later," said Arrow. "Maaga kaming pinapapunta sa event hall para sa pageant mamayang gabi."

"Oo nga pala," nakasimangot na sabi ni Audrey. "This is the reason why I didn't like the idea of representing our school. Mawawalan ako ng oras para magliwaliw."

"Don't worry, after the pageant tonight, you'll have your time to relax," I comforted, trying to lift up her mood.

"Anong oras pala ang pageant?" tanong ni Maze.

"6PM," Arrow answered.

"Good luck, then," said Colton. "Do you need my kiss to feel my support?"

Arrow threw him a glare. "Colton, stop sticking around with Maze. Nahahawa ka na sa pagiging pilosopo niya."

Maze pouted. "Why? What's wrong with me? Ang cool ko kaya!"

Halos mabilaukan naman si Audrey dahil sa sinabi ng kanyang katabi. "Gutom lang 'yan, Maze. Try ordering another food, baka sakaling tumino 'yang pagiisip mo."

"Thanks for your support," said Maze, curling his lips in annoyance.

"I'm the one who needs support. Remember, I'll represent the school tonight," she reminded.

"Just please don't stumble, or else, I can't walk with you in school anymore," Maze teased.

"Ikaw pa talaga ang nagsabi nyan? Ang tagal ko kayang nagtyaga sa mukha mo. Hindi mo ba alam na ilang taon na akong nagtitiis maglakad sa hallway ng ikaw ang kasama?"

Natawa naman si Colton at Arrow sa sinabi ni Audrey. Maze flashed a look as if she wanted to strangle Audrey. In the middle of your conversation, Colton's phone rang. I accidentally had a glimpse on his phone screen so I saw a contact name, Yellow.

"Excuse me, guys. I'll just answer this," said Colton and made his way out of the City Seafood.

Bumulong naman sa'kin si Arrow. "Pustahan tayo, si Dandrix ang tumawag."

I snapped him a hot stare, showing him I didn't like the joke running from his mouth. Actually, I had no problem if Dandrix and Colton really had a thing. It's just unexpected for me, making me hard to believe whether it's real or not.

After eating our lunch, my friends and I wandered between booths and displays, trying the different food products prepared by the different schools including ours. Hindi na namin nakasama sina Audrey at Arrow dahil kailangan na sila sa event hall. The business booths were standing at the beach area, giving us a mixture of sunny and windy moment.
