Jennie stirred from her sleep with a sudden jolt, a sensation like something stucked in her throat. Panic surged as she dashed to the bathroom, retching until her stomach was empty.
Then, a comforting hand landed on her back, and she heard the soothing voice of her boyfriend.
"It's fine, Jennie," he reassured her.
After splashing water on her face, she emerged to find Kai guiding her to the dining table.
Jisoo was already there as she sipped her tea her gaze immediately fixed on Jennie, and she hurried over.
"Are you okay, Jendukie?" Jisoo asked, her worry was visible
Jennie nodded, taking her seat at the table.
Kai placed a plate of breakfast in front of her, and they began to eat in relative peace.
However, Jennie's mind buzzed with a decision she had made, one she knew she had to share with the two most important people in her life: Jisoo and Kai.
Clearing her throat to gather their attention, Jennie spoke up.
"I've decided to talk to Lisa about the baby," she announced.
Both Kai and Jisoo choked on their food, their eyes widening in surprise. After a moment, they recovered enough to respond.
"Are you sure?" they asked in unison, their concern evident.
Jennie smiled softly, her resolve unwavering.
"Yes, as you both said, it's Lisa's baby too."
"I'm happy Jennie" Jisoo said while patting Jennie shoulder.
"I can say being with me you have become courageous" Kai said while showing off his biceps which made me chuckle but Jisoo unnie hit his head
"what do you mean? you are still afraid of your own kind" Jisoo scoofed after saying it.
"My kind?? wait---Jisoo how dare you to call me a dog" Kai charged towards jisoo while acting like he's going to hit her. Jisoo posed like she's doing kungfu and hit him. I laughed at their silliness as I realized.
Suddenly Jennie's heart swelled with gratitude as she remember how supportive Kai and Jisoo are. Their presence had been a constant source of strength during the darkest moments of her life, especially after her painful breakup with Lisa.
(Flashback)
Jennie POV
I can feel repeatative buzzing of my phone , but I couldn't summon the strength to answer.
Each vibration felt like a reminder of the life I had once cherished, now shattered by the weight of my own responsibilities. Taking over my father's company had seemed like a logical step, but I hadn't anticipated the toll it would take on My Personal life and I'll be loosing most important person of mine.
"Lisa... please come back," I sobbed, clutching lisa's pillow tightly to my chest, trying to find her essence in it but it's started to fade away.
After Returning home later, I just found a note on the table
"I'm Leaving Jennie for better" just those 5 words and she leave me . I accept it was my fault I took her for granted and give priority to company thinking I'll make it up to her tomorrow but that tomorrow never came.
I kept waiting for her coming back , I locked myself in my room. Just me on bed looking at our photo albums and videos. I never answered anyone calls , I just waited for one name that is LISA.
Days turned into weeks, but Lisa never returned. Then, one day, the doorbell rang, sparking a glimmer of hope in my heart.
I ran towards door happily finally she's back but it was not Lisa who stood on the other side
I met with 2 people concerned eyes
"Jennie?" Jisoo enveloped me in a tight embrace, but I remained frozen, I felt dissapointed that it's not Lisa.
I broke from the hug and went to my room, I can hear them whispering outside my room but currently I just need one person who can pull me out of this misery and it's not Jisoo or kai.
I can hear complete silence maybe they both left when I was about to took a deep breath , someone knock on my room's door. I didn't replied just look at it coldly. It open and I saw my bestfriend's face.
"Jennie... You need to eat something." Kai placed a plate of pancakes before me
The sight of the pancakes triggered a flood of memories-of cooking together with Lisa, of her endearing clumsiness, of stolen kisses shared over syrup-coated lips. Tears welled up in my eyes as the weight of lossing lisa crashed over me once more
the pain feeling fresh and raw as if it would never heal. I hit my chest while crying
Kai gently set the plate aside and pulled me into a comforting embrace.
I just cried in his embrace while clutching his shirt my tears soaking his shoulder as he murmured words of reassurance.
"Cry it all out, Jennie," he whispered, his voice a soothing
I cried more ,until I felt the world around me being blurry and fuzzy.
