After what felt like hours of negotiating and arguing, we finally reached a decision. Sonic and I found ourselves crammed inside a grey cylinder travelling bag, the zipper closed from the outside. We were pressed tightly together, avoiding eye contact with each other. My face was flushed, and I could see that Sonic was experiencing the same discomfort.
Tom and Maddie confidently make their way to the reception area. Tom carries the backpack using the carry handle and holds his passport with his other hand, while Maddie strides confidently beside him. They exchange a glance, nodding in silent agreement as they share a moment of mutual assurance. With a sense of urgency, they hurriedly approach the female receptionist.
"We got a jumper on the roof. Gotta get up there fast or we're gonna have a human pancake on our hands." Tom solemnly presented his identification and sheriff's badge to the woman as he explained his role to her.The woman's expression turned puzzled as she glanced from Maddie to Tom, her eyes narrowing in response to the information she gleaned from Tom's identification.
"You came all the way from Montana?" She asked, seeking clarification with a hint of confusion in her voice. Tom hesitated for a moment, realizing that the lie he had told didn't quite make sense.
"Yeah, that's how serious it is." Tom told her and he closes the flap of his identification card case. The lady gives Maddie a look of disapproval, completely concerned with Tom's request to get to the roof. Maddie smiles shortly but after gives a stern face, one which could sense fear and anxiety. Her hopes for getting to the roof seemed to be low. Tom notices this and eyes her before looking back at the lady, his face nerve-wracking as well. Maddie looks back at Tom after noticing he was staring at her, and afterwards they stare at the lady with one final chance to redeem the card.
"Okay." The receptionist exhaled with exasperation, her voice tinged with a hint of kindness. She slides the access card on the counter to lend it to them, despite the obscurity she has between Maddie and Tom.
"You just saved a life." Tom gestured heart-warmingly, sliding the card towards him, his eyes fixed on the woman as if he were admiring her heroism. He knew that he'd be able to finally help the aliens return home. They take off with the access card and walk away from the lady. They maintained a cool composure as they began to navigate to the elevator. They look at each other swiftly, before secretly giving a fist bump and an assuaged grin from the relief they had for finally gaining the card for the roof.☆ ³ʀᴅ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴏɴ ☆

As Maddie and Tom entered the hallway lined with elevator doors on either side, Maddie confidently pressed the button to call for the elevator.
They stood in silence, waiting for its arrival. Maddie adjusted her hair, ensuring it fell neatly on both sides of her face, while Tom scanned the area, noticing two adults standing nearby on either side. tom was silently mouthing something in repeat, considering it must've been the plead to hope that the two adults wouldn't stand next to them. Maddie glances at Tom with widened eyes, noticing their appearance. Tom looks at the man frequently, furrowing his eyebrows for a split second before returning his gaze back to the elevator Standing beside Maddie was a woman with elegantly curled black hair cascading down her back, complemented by thin lips painted a deep magenta hue. She was dressed in a turquoise blazer paired with a stylish, floral-patterned white and cyan dress.
On Tom's side, he was accompanied by a man sporting short ginger hair with a full ginger moustache and beard. He wore a sophisticated grey blazer over a crisp white collar shirt, accessorized with a blue tie. His distinguished look was completed with a pair of glasses perched on his nose. He also held a brown leather suitcase with his free hand, and assuming the other lady would be doing the same gesture too. Both adults were engrossed in their smartphones, deftly navigating them using only a single hand to type, touch or click their screens. The quad both stood there patiently. The adults were busy on their phone whilst Tom and Maddie were seeking for the elevator to arrive in time
"How much longer? I can't breathe in here." A muffled yet loud voice was heard from the bag Tom was holding, and not only did it break the silence but it had sparked the adult's attention from the unexpected voice that was heard out of the unknown. Tom looks down at the bag, his face disappointed from how Sonic randomly decided to speak without permission. Maddie successfully resisted to freak out, slowly and consciously looking down. The lady side-eyed at the voice that had been heard, whilst the white man reluctantly paused his flow of typing after hearing the voice as well. He seemed interrupted as the lady next to Maddie, which made Tom and Maddie attempt to keep silent even after hearing Sonic.
"Same, it stinks here more than Sonic not taking a shower..." (Y/N) joins in, discomforted by the stench of the bag including the lack of space in the bag. Maddie seemed to grin at this, yet tried to ease herself. Tom kept looking around the room, attempting to forget the voices echoing from the bag and so does Maddie. However, the adults clearly found their attention to the voices and were highly disturbed by how the couple purposely didn't pay any awareness to the situation.
