Chapter15: Strategic Maneuvers​

As the next day dawned, Mrs. Gilbert, Zephyr, and Valencia gathered to analyze the information they had gathered from Kelvin and Brianna, as well as from their exploration of Kelvin's house. Despite their efforts, they found themselves no closer to unraveling the mystery. Mrs. Gilbert voiced their frustration, saying, "We need to come to a conclusion soon. We're running out of leads." 

Zephyr suggested meeting Brianna again, noting that she had invited him over. "I'll go to her place and gather as much information as I can," he said confidently. Valencia was taken aback. "You're going alone?" she exclaimed. "What about us? We're all part of this investigation!" Mrs. Gilbert intervened, agreeing with Zephyr. "He's right. He needs to go alone," she said firmly.

 Reluctantly, Valencia relented, but not without expressing her displeasure. "Fine," she muttered, "but do keep your focus on the case." Zephyr called Brianna and arranged to meet her the following day at a restaurant before heading to her place. Brianna's flirtatious tone didn't go unnoticed by Valencia, who couldn't hide her jealousy. 

Mocking Brianna's words, Valencia muttered, "We'll meet soon, handsome," before storming off to the kitchen.​ Amused by Valencia's reaction, Zephyr and Mrs. Gilbert shared a knowing glance. "She's quite the character, isn't she?" Zephyr remarked with a chuckle. Mrs. Gilbert nodded in agreement. "Indeed she is," she replied, her eyes twinkling with amusement. 

Left alone, Zephyr couldn't help but smile as he thought about Valencia's jealous outburst. Despite her protests, it was clear that she cared deeply about their mission—and about him. With a newfound determination, Zephyr set to work, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.​
