Zephyr returned home after his meeting with Brianna, the encounter still fresh in his mind. As he entered, he found Valencia and Mrs. Gilbert discussing the day's events. "Hey, what's up?" Zephyr greeted them. Valencia responded curtly, "Just hungry. I'll make dinner." Mrs. Gilbert observed Valencia's demeanor and commented, "Seems like someone's not in the best mood today." Zephyr noticed the frown on Valencia's face and became concerned. "What happened? Why is she so upset? She didn't even look at me today."
Mrs. Gilbert interjected, "Valencia heard something about you and Brianna... kissing, I believe?" Zephyr let out a deep sigh. "Oh, for heaven's sake. That woman! What am I supposed to do now?" Mrs. Gilbert offered some advice, "You two should talk. Clear the air." Zephyr nodded and decided to take a bath before addressing the situation with Valencia. Later, at dinner, Mrs. Gilbert announced, "I'm heading to bed.
Valencia, don't worry about the dishes. I'll take care of them tomorrow." Valencia insisted, "No, I'll do them tonight. Don't worry." As they ate, Valencia remained silent, lost in her thoughts. When she finished, she headed to the kitchen without a word. Zephyr called after her, "Need any help?" Valencia ignored him, but Zephyr followed her into the kitchen, concerned.
"Are you okay? How's your finger?" Valencia brushed him off, her frustration evident. Zephyr gently grasped her hand, trying to get her attention. "Hey, what's going on? Why are you ignoring me? And about Brianna... I didn't—" Valencia cut him off, her voice laced with sarcasm, "Oh, yeah, you were just doing your job, right? Having fun?" Zephyr sighed, "I'm not just Zephyr Frost to her. I'm playing a role.
It's not real." Valencia scoffed, "Yeah, well, it felt pretty real to me." Zephyr pulled her closer, meeting her gaze. "Listen, I love only one woman, and it's not Brianna." He guided her to a mirror in the hall and said, "See her? She's the one I love. The most beautiful, annoying, wonderful woman I know." Valencia stared at her reflection, speechless, as Zephyr confessed his feelings.
Finally, she stammered, "Wh-what?" Zephyr grinned, "I love you, Miss Bumblebee." Valencia's eyes widened in surprise, "I... I hate you too." Zephyr chuckled, pulling her into a hug. "Goodnight, Miss Bumblebee." Valencia smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her as they parted ways for the night.
