A surf warning won't dampen my spirits as I head for the sea. The warm summer sun has finally emerged after days clinging behind the clouds. You can smell it in the air. The sea breeze carries its glorious, fresh fragrance towards the shore. The salty mist clings to my skin and coats my mahogany hair. Many people despise the salt. It creates a certain waxy feel to your hair and skin - a feeling of uncleanliness. But for me it is a sign of arrival, that I am back home. Nothing beats the crash of the waves as they ebb and flow across the soft, white sand. I am greeted with a vast blue sky as far as the eye can see. Where the sea meets the shore, it's as if two worlds collide. The deep blue she calls me, beckoning me to join. A life within her would be heavenly, but I remain bound to my terrestrial world. I have too much to live for back there, so I first must fulfil my duty to those I love and to my worldly Mother. But maybe then in my next life the sea will be my lover.

There is a saying that I love. Many wonder which is bigger, the sea or the sky? Where is it that the sea ends and the sky begins?

It is the sea that is bigger, because the sea embraces the sky.
