TW; Mention of panic attacks, Depression, SH.

It was a sad sight really, pretty pathetic. Matt couldn't help but think. Matt has been struggling silently in the past 2 months he didn't bring it up to his brothers because he thought it was going to pass. the way his stomach ached every time he read the comments under a tik tok. of the panic attacks he endured on tour when he felt as though the whole world was closing in on him. he knew he had some serious insecurity issues to the point where it had crossed his mind a handful of times that his brothers would be better off without him.

Matts fingers rapidly grazed over the keyboard of his computer. Eyes wide they drifted from left to rights reading the comments that had been left on one of their most recent youtube video. It was late, 2AM maybe but Matt couldn't help himself even with the ache growing in his chest, the comments were awful. His bloodshot eyes finally looked away from the computer when he hears a knock at his door, quickly he shuts the laptop as the door opens.

"Thought I heard you awake in here." Chris smiles walking in with his sweatpants hanging low on his hips as he walks towards his brother.

"Sorry i couldn't sleep." Matt shrugs avoiding eye contact with his brother which is easy for him given the darkness of the room. He feels the bed dip when Chris lays down next to him. It's silent in the room nothing is said for so long Matt starts to think Chris has fallen asleep. He stares at the ceiling replaying the nasty comments in his head.

"Would you tell me if something was bothering you?" Chris's words cut sharply though the silence in the room. Matt tries not to dwell on the question before answering quickly.

"Yes, why do you ask." Matt says trying to keep the conversation casual although it wouldn't take an expert to hear the uneasiness in the boys voice. He sees Chris turn his head to look at him out of the corner of his eye but he knows if he looks his brother in the eyes, even in the darkness of the room he would be able to see that he is not good at all.

"i just worry about you, the fame is a-lot and i know you don't handle all the attention well." Chris says turning to look up at the ceiling as Matt lets out a sigh.

"If I need help I would come to you, But for now I'm fine Chris." Matt says closing his eyes trying his best to keep his mind clear. Matt wasn't too sure why when he had the chance he didn't speak up and ask him for help, but for now Matt and Chris drifted off leaving their conversation playing at the back of both their minds.

A few weeks had passed since Matt and Chris's conversation, nothing else had been said probably due to Matts efforts to keep all his thoughts under control. He stopped reading the nasty comments in fact he stopped reading all comments he stopped posting on social media and only was active if it was for their joint account. It would look like Matt Sturniolo was getting better but really he was just hiding it better.

He didn't find much joy in anything at all, he didn't feel like the fans were his at all. He felt like he was hanging onto fame that wasn't his, riding on the back of his brothers success. He didn't edit the videos. He didn't come up with the ideas, Matt just sat there looking into a camera almost having out of body experience. Floating above himself watching his answer questions and put on a smile. He didn't deserve the fame. He took it for granted and hid from it when anyone else would crave it.

It was a Tuesday morning when he stumbled across an article on his computer that made his fingers halt in their place.

THE DOWNFALL OF MATT STURNIOLO

Matt Sturniolo is an American TikTok star, YouTuber and Instagram star from the United States of America. But after following this man for more than two years it seems like the downfall of Matt has already started.

-Lack of dedication in recent vlogs

-Snobbish attitude towards fans

-No longer active on social media

-Straight up boring

Matts eyes skimmed the blog reading paragraphs on paragraphs about his downfall and lack of creativeness. He felt that all too familiar tightness in his chest start but he couldn't bring himself to pull his eyes away from the screen. Eventually his breathing picked up and the words started to all merge together on the page. He clutched his chest finally looking away from the screen trying to steady his breaths. He subconsciously tugged harshly at his hair focusing on the pain he was causing as a way to try to calm down his breathing.

Were they right about him? He couldn't help but let his negative thoughts take over. His head in his hands he felt as though the whole room was spinning, without a second thought he pulled himself up and stumbled into his bathroom closing the door and turning the shower on. Quickly he took off his clothes and sat on the floor of his shower letting the hot water run over him.

He stayed there for a moment trying to calm down his thoughts when his razor on the right of him caught his eye. His gaze lingered there wondering what it would feel like to have the blade cut over his skin. He knew how stupid he would be to cut himself but right now Matt was feeling stupid so he reached forward and broke the blades from the razor holding the metal piece in his hand. He looked down at his forearm that was clean other than a few tattoos and he cringed slowly bringing the blade up and swiftly slicing it across his arm.

Suddenly his mind stopped racing and his breathing calmed down as he watched the blood drip from his arm mixing in with the water. After a moment of watching his arm turn red he runs it under the water cleaning it. He turns off the shower in a haze and wrapped up his arm before pulling his hoodie on and sweatpants up. His mind still in a shocked state he almost didn't hear the knock on the bathroom door.

"Matt, you all good in there?" Matt felt his heart start to race as he took one final look in the mirror fixing his hair.

"yeah I'm sweet." He said as he pushed the bathroom door open being met with Chris's face. Chris raises an eyebrow looking at his brother suspiciously.

"Why are you reading articles like that Matt." Chris points to the laptop that lays open on his bed. Matt felt his heart rate pick up.

"I just stumbled upon it, I don't let it effect me anyways." he shrugs walking past his brother to close the laptop.

"I don't like the through of you in your room alone reading these untrue statements." Chris says following his brother over to his bed.

"I mean they aren't wrong."

"what?" Chris looks taken aback as he shakes his head.

"doesn't matter. Can you get out I just want to sleep." Matt says as he climbed into his bed facing away from his brother.

"Hold on what do you mean, do you really believe all these things they are saying?" Chris says his heart breaking for his brother. He knows how Matts brain works and he takes things to heart and won't let anyone in to help.

A beat of silence passes and Matt doesn't respond, Chris knows when he gets like this it's best to leave his brother alone, so thats what he does. He left him to lay in his room with his own thoughts.
