"So, Star, should we get going on the dance floor? I'd like to show you some of the moves I've been practicing." Tom winked, grinning.

"I don't know, I haven't really been feeling good after you spun me around real fast. I think I'll have to sit this one out." She smiled, swallowing back the nausea.

"Hmm. Well, let me know if I can get you anything, sweetie!" He bent over and reached for her face and kissed her gently on the cheek, then slowly on the lips. Star pushed back.

"W-what are you doing?" Her face was red, full of confusion and surprise.

"Star, I... I just want you to know that I've been missing you, a lot, actually, and I wish that we could get back together...?"

"Awww... Tom..." she smiled, but soon her expression contorted into uneasiness. "Mind.. getting me something to drink? Maybe that'll make me feel better."

"You got it!" He soon rushed over to the punch table, surrounded by his friends, telling them everything that was happening between him and the Mewni princess.

He was so caught up in the conversation that he didn't see Marco jump out of a portal right behind him.

Marco looked around, absorbing everything he could see. Finally, he found Star at a table across the room, but not before overheard her name in a group chatter.

"Hah, that stupid Star girl? Yeah, I've managed to trick her into thinking I want her back. What am I really going to do? Steal that magical wand of hers. Once it's mine, I'll finally be able to have a power and position I so rightfully deserve." He grinned, and the others around him laughed and cheered him on.

Oh, no you won't!

He might have managed to mess with Star, but Marco wasn't going to let him get any farther. He rushed over to Star, making sure to stay as unnoticeable as possible. Right as he got to her, she looked up, her eyes showing so many mixed emotions.

"Marco!! How did you g-"

"Star, I really need you to listen. Tom is using you for things other than you think. He's not trying to get back together with you, he's just manipulating your mind so you and him can-"

Star's eyes widened in fear. "MARCO!"

Tom pushed him aside, and he groaned out in pain from the impact of the floor.

"Star! Thank god you're okay! This kid was about to hurt you! I'm so glad I came just in tim-"

"SERIOUSLY, Tom? First, he has a name, Marco, you should use it sometime. Second,
he was saving me from believing your lies. You know why came all this way to help me? Because he cares about me, unlike you. You haven't changed, and I was an idiot for thinking you would. We are NEVER getting back together, so save it."

Tom's glare was cold, and his smirk was evil, but his body erupted in flames. "You really think," he chuckled, "that I'd let you go off that easy? I guess you can say goodbye to going home because there is NO way I am taking back a spoiled, good for nothing little princess like you." Small fires danced at his finger tips. "If I was and I am such a terrible guy, then why in the world would you BELIEVE me now when I say I want you back? I can tell they don't teach you that much in Mewni, because so far, you've shown not one once of intelligence in that head. I never want to get back with you ever again either."

The fire she once had in her eyes had died out by now, and she sat there, tears silently rolling down her face.

"What, you're going to cry now? I meant every word I said. The list even goes on! You're a brat, maniac, id-"

"Don't EVER talk about my girl that way!"

Marco got up and released all his anger out in a powerful kick, sending Tom towards the punch table. The bowl tipped over his head, pouring all of the juice all over him. One by one, his friends came running towards him, but Marco successfully blocked off every blow, and even managed to hurl them all at the punch table with Tom. He hurried towards Star.

"We gotta go, Star. Like, NOW."

She looked up, tears still falling, shaking her head. "I left the scissors at home. Tom promised he would take me back..." she stifled a small sob.

"Oh... Well... I guess the only thing we can do now is use the scissors I brought with me!" Marco's hand shot up, revealing the shiny cutters. Star's expression instantly brightened. "Let's get out of here!" Marco quickly snipped the scissors across the air, opening a large portal to home. Marco hopped right in, but Star lingered for a bit.

"Ow... Star! I-I was just kidding! Haha, we're all good, right? What about our future -ow- together?" She could tell Tom was desperate, and to be honest, she felt a little bad seeing him lying there, punch dripping down his shirt. But yet, he was the reason why she was almost left here, why she was crying.

"Screwed that one up yourself." And with that, she hopped through the portal to home.
