She landed right on top of Marco, earning a muffled groan from the boy underneath her on her bed. Star quickly apologized, getting up. Everything that had just happened was crazy, and she wanted to forget it all.
"I'm sorry, I didn't..."
He laughed, getting up and looking at Star, taking her image in, once again. Even with her tear stained face and wrinkled dress, she was still beyond beautiful, no denying that. Star blushed, realizing what he was doing.
"..Aha... I know, I know, I look like a complete mess," she sniffed. "I'm- I'm sorry your day hasn't gone the way you've wanted it to, what with you having to leave Jackie and all."
"Don't say that," he mumbled, moving towards her. His arms snaked around her, and their eyes met one another's. "It hasn't gone the way I wanted it to... yet."
She nodded, understanding it all. Their faces were now inches apart from each other. Someone had to make a move sooner or later, and it was Marco who got the courage to do so. He couldn't stand seeing the most beautiful, amazing girl get insulted by someone who used to be important in her life, especially romantically. He put his hand around her waist, his fingers entwined throughout her delicate locks, and pulled her close. Star grabbed his collar of his hoodie, the one she had always loved to steal, pulling him towards her. Within a moment, they were one; brown mixed with blue, and they were pressed against each other, their lips together at last, soft, delicate, but with so much passion. Kissing star was like no ordinary kiss. She was magical, and she had enchanted him entirely. As for Star, Marco was like home. Kissing him was sweet, cozy, and warm. This was what they had always truly wanted, and both of them never wanted it to end.
They both pulled away for a bit, still holding each other, foreheads touching, but regaining their breath.
"I r-really like you, Star. You're always in my mind wherever I go, and I worry when I can't keep you safe."
"You don't have to worry, Marco. What better way to keep me safe than to always stay by my side? I like you too, Safe Kid."
He smiled, pulling her in for another kiss. Things would be different between them, that's for sure. Star wanted to forget everything that night. Wanted it to all wash away, be gone forever.
At least, almost everything.
