Today was the day that Tate would not have her own bedroom anymore. Six months ago, the family got told that Jackie Howard would be moving in with them. Tate obviously had sympathy for the girl and was happy to have another teenage girl in the house to give her a break from all of the boys; but she just wanted her own room. Her own room was the place where she'd go when her social battery would run out and she could be by herself... she could not do that if she shared a room with someone else. The Davenport girl knew she'd get used to it eventually, but right now, she wasn't best pleased that she was losing the space in the house that was only her's.
"Tate" Katherine says with a smile as Tate walks down the stairs "This is Jackie. Jackie, this is Tate."
"My new roommate" Tate says to Jackie with a small smile "I apologise in advance for the boys. Good luck with them."
"Thanks, I guess" Jackie says awkwardly, matching Tate's smile as they walk into the kitchen as Katherine gets a phone call. If Tate was being honest, she had forgotten that today was the day that Jackie was moving in with them. The only reason she had went downstairs was to get a snack.
"So, you moved from New York?" Tate asks, not wanting to be too awkward. Tate has never been good around new people. Yes, she is a nice and talkative person, but not around people she doesn't know. It takes her a while to get comfortable around people, but once she knows someone well enough, she is unapologetically herself around them.
"Yeah, Manhattan" Jackie answers, also not wanting the situation to be awkward.
"Ooo, fancy" Tate says with a smile "I've always wanted to go there, New York, I mean. I'm hoping to go there for college."
"NYU?" Jackie asks, making Tate nod her head "You'll love it there, it's a great college."
"Will, thank God you're here!" Katherine says as Will walks into the kitchen, breaking Jackie and Tate out of their conversation "Jackie, this is Will. Will, this is Jackie. Will is our oldest and he's the best."
"Jackie, welcome" Will says with a smile, shaking Jackie's hand.
"Hi" Jackie says to Will with a smile, still feeling awkward. Tate knew how Jackie was feeling; when she first moved in, she felt really awkward too, but luckily for her, she already knew Isaac like the back of her hand. Tate felt bad for the Howard girl, since she was moving in not knowing anyone in the house.
"I have to go to the clinic" Katherine says to Will and Tate "So can you two take over and get Jackie all settled in? She's already met um, Danny, Isaac, Alex and um--"
"Benny" Jackie helps Katherine, who gives her a smile.
"Benny, yes" Katherine says, still smiling "I cannot believe I'm being called in right now" Katherine says with a sigh "Jackie, I am so sorry. I promise I'll be back as soon as I possibly can."
"Don't worry" Jackie says with a smile "Hope the dog's okay."
"Yeah, Katherine, we'll take care of her" Tate softly says with a smile.
