"You got your mother's spirit"

POV: Minerva Redfield

—Good morning, Minerva! How are you doing? —things I've been hearing all morning. I don't want to sound conceited, it's just that it makes me happy to feel loved by the camp. Whenever I pass by many people greet me and even ask me for help with things that I am better than them. Even if I am not the best, I like to know that I am the first choice of many people. I had just finished helping some of Demeter's daughters plant their plants when I saw Luke and Percy coming out of cabin 11.

I was about to greet them when I saw a group of Ares kids approaching them. I have nothing against Clarisse and her siblings, I try not to have enemies in the camp, but that doesn't mean I defend their bully behaviour. Clarisse bumped into Percy and when he wanted to defend himself, the girl pushed him. I think that's enough pacifist girl for today. —Hey, what's going on here? Come on Clarisse, don't make my job harder, will you? —I said, holding out a hand to Percy as I looked at Ares' daughter.

—This isn't about you, angel —she said with a blank face. I was surprised at her choice of insult. She could've called me anything else 10 times more offensive and she chose "angel", maybe she didn't want to get in trouble with me. Some people choose to call me that as a mockery of my prophecy which names me as "Selene's angel". —So this is the kid who killed the Minotaur. Is that right? —she asked with a mocking tone exchanging glances with Luke.

—Look, you want attention around here, dummy? You better be ready for it when it comes —Clarisse said looking menacingly at the boy who's younger than her. The girl tried to approach Percy to scare him but I stepped in front of him. She scoffed. —Well, I guess I'll leave you with your bodyguard, newbie —Clarisse said addressing Percy. She didn't say a word to me the whole discussion.

The sons of Ares finally left, laughing at the others of course. —Well, she seems nice —Percy said. I guess his sass is still intact. —Ares kids. They come by it honestly —said Luke dismissively. I went over to Chris's side and took the opportunity to say hello. When he saw me the first thing he did was ruffle my hair, I slapped his hand. We looked like kids. Well, we are kids, but you know what I mean.
