"All I see is smoke." She muttered, causing Ciel's eyes to squint and look for Lau. They walked through the fog that faintly reminded Elysia of the smell of incense that burned in temples. "Lau?!" Ciel yelled, coughing a little.
They reached a clearing where Lau and Ran Mao were seated. "Well, isn't it the Young Earl that has come to visit?" He said, smiling. "I have been expecting you."
Ciel narrowed his eyes. "Then you know why we're here." Lau smiled, his head turning slightly to Elysia. "You have brought the lady too." She looked away in response to his staring.
Ran Mao laid next to Lau, her legs and thighs bare, her arm bending back in a dramatic sense. She eyed Cylis who continued to stare at Lau, ignoring her.
"Do you know her?" Ciel asked, wondering what Elysia had done to become acquainted with the Undertaker and Lau. "No. While we are at it. What are we talking about?" Ciel's vein popped as he face palmed, Elysia smirking.
"Asian ingredients were used to create a drug that causes mutations in the skin then inevitable death." Lau made an 'ah' sound as he nodded. "Yes, I have heard of that." He reached behind him to reveal a herb encased in a clear sleeve. "I believe I know what you are looking for, Earl."
Ciel made a move to take the herb but Lau just opened it and placed it into the contraption that caused all the smoke. It was Sebastian's turn to smirk as his young master burned red in embarrassment.
"Here." Lau revealed another sleeve with a yellow herb, red specks littered the top. "It contains a herb that targets the nervous system. It ensures a painful death and some horrific side effects you have already seen." Ciel paused for a bit, waiting for him to retract his arm. Before he could take it, Elysia sighed and grabbed the sleeve instead.
Ciel glared at her. She only shrugged her shoulders and handed it to him. "You didn't seem to move." She explained, raising an eyebrow as he snatched it from her. "Bocchan, please apologise to the lady."
Ciel glanced up at Elysia, her eyes glazed over as she looked away, her hand falling to her side. Ciel sighed. "I apologise, Lady Elysia." Cylis cleared his throat, causing her to look up. "Likewise." Sebastian smirked as Ciel turned around from Lau's curious stare.
"Sebastian, see if you can find the source of where this drug is coming from. Report back to me. Be done before breakfast morning." Sebastian bowed. "Yes, My Lord." He walked into the fog, disappearing into a cloud of black. "Cylis, prepare the carriage. We are returning to the Phantomhive mansion."
"Yes, My Lady."
-
The carriage rolled to a stop in front of the mansion, Cylis opening the door. He first aided his mistress then Ciel out of the carriage. "Welcome to The Phantomhive Estate." Cylis was about to open the door until it swung open, Sebastian greeting them with a smile.
"Welcome home, bocchan and Lady Theda." Elysia smiled as Essence appeared next to him, a silver platter on her hand. "We have transported all of your belongings upstairs." Sebastian said, as he took off his master's coat. "Whose belongings?" Ciel asked, raising an eyebrow. "Mine." Elysia simply answered, smoothing out her dress as Cylis fixed her collar.
"Essence, their maid, has alerted me they will be staying here for the next two weeks as we work on this case." Sebastian explained, Ciel furrowing his eyebrows. "If there is a problem, Lord Ciel, Cylis and Essence can return my belongings and we will return home." Elysia offered.
At that suggestion, Sebastian leaned in and whispered something to his young master. Ciel paused and then smiled. "Of course, Lady Elysia, we would like to have you stay." Elysia smiled.
"You haven't placed your portrait there yet?" Elysia pointed out the top of the main staircase, the wide, empty space on the wall. "I was planning to do it after I have settled through adulthood." Ciel continued, using as much complex words as his vocabulary allowed him too.
"Your place is quite beautiful." She complimented, her hand running across the top of a drawer, no dust on her finger. "Very clean." Ciel smiled. "My servants take great lengths to keep this place in top condition." Elysia hummed and looked at Essence.
"A letter from Aiden, My Lady." Essence lifted the cover, revealing an envelope with a red seal, two swords engraved on it, the Theda household emblem. Elysia stared at it warily then proceeded to open it. "Lady Elysia's older brother." Sebastian explained to Ciel who seemed confused.
Elysia read the letter then quickly placed it back onto the platter. "Thank you, Essence. Dispose of the letter. Please write a letter back to him, regarding the topic." The maid bowed and disappeared upstairs.
"May I ask what that was about." Elysia smiled at Ciel, brushing a strand away from her face. "A family matter, Lord Ciel. Don't bother yourself with it." "I see."
Elysia held in a yawn, letting a small sigh out. "Can Sebastian lead me to my room?" Ciel looked at Sebastian and gestured for him to do what Elysia had asked.
"My pleasure, Lady Elysia." She smiled and followed the butler upstairs. "Would you like some tea, Lord Ciel?" Cylis asked, offering his assistance. "Yes, please."
