A Few Hours Later
Jasper and Sebastian were lying down in Jasper’s old room. The only thing in there was the couch that the couple was laying on and the blanket covering their lower halves. The shelves, wardrobe, and closet were completely empty due to Jasper moving all of his things to their cabin in Alaska. They both stared at the ceiling as if they could see through it. There was silence for a long time before Jasper decided to break it.
“Do ya think that there's a chance we might not make it through this?” Jasper asked.
"Even though I can see more than Alice, the future can still change.” Sebastian replied.
“I know that, Darlin, but I can't help but think this isn't gonna end well.” Jasper whispered worriedly.Sebastian sat up from the couch and pinned Jasper to the couch with a stare that, if Jasper was alive, would've put him more than six feet under. Then, Jasper watched as Sebastian's glare settled into something softer. The feelings that Jasper felt from his mate were confusing, so confusing that Jasper couldn't make sense of what he was feeling.
“Jasper Whitlock Hale. I am going to do everything I can to make sure you and our family get out of this. Understand? There is nothing that will keep me away from the people I love, newborn army be damned.” Sebastian declared.
Jaspeye's vision became blurred with venom as he listened to his mate's declaration. He quickly sat up and pulled Sebastian into his arms, burying his face into Sebastian's shoulder. Sebastian wrapped his arms around Jasper and gently started carding his fingers through the blond curls of his mate. They sat in silence. Jasper, with his nose, used the scent coming from his mate to help calm down. Sebastian was an odd combination of scents, Jasper thought. The smell of sandalwood, rain, and the forest was an interesting combination, but Jasper easily recognized as Sebastian.
“What are ya plannin for trainin tomorrow?” Came Jasper's muffled question.
“I'm going to show the wolves how dangerous a newborn actually is. However, you and the rest of the family need to keep Bella away from me while we're training. Once I get into that headspace, I'm not going to be able to recognize my own sister.” Sebastian replied.
“Alright, we'll keep her away from you until you're fully calm.” Jasper reassured.
“Thank you. This is an off-topic question, but are there other terms of endearment from the Civil War Era? I think people are getting confused that we use the same pet names for each other.” Sebastian asked.
“Well, there's my love, ducky, sweetheart, treasure, darling, sweetie, angel, etc.” Jasper responded.
“Hmm, I'm not feeling any of those. How about Tesoro?” Sebastian offered.
“Tesoro? What does that mean?” Jasper questioned.
“It means treasure in Italian.” Sebastian answered.
“Treasure? I think that could grow on me.” Jasper hummed.Sebastian smiled and laid back down on the couch with Jasper wrapped up in his arms. They were both anxious about what tomorrow would bring.
