The Next Day

Edward and Bella arrived at the clearing in the woods where Jasper was going to be training the wolves. Bella immediately noticed that Emmett and Jasper were wrestling while her brother was watching with the rest of the family. Sebastian turned to see that Edward and Bella had arrived, his eyes narrowed at Bella getting out of the jeep so he sped over to her. He looked at Edward in disbelief.

"I thought I told you to keep her in the car." Sebastian stated.

"I did tell her Sebastian, I think she just forgot." Edward defended himself.

"Well, she's obviously not going to listen to me or anyone else for that matter so keep her by the Jeep okay?" Sebastian compromised.

Edward nodded in agreement and Sebastian walked back to the family. Before Edward could join the family, Bella stopped him.

"What did Seb say? He's still mad at me isn't he?" Bella questioned.

"He told me to keep you away from the clearing while they're training. And yes he is still mad at you but he doesn't want you to get hurt." Edward answered.

"Edward? I just want to say I'm sorry for the way I acted. I really thought about it and realized that I had no right to try and push you to stay in a relationship when you made it obvious that you didn't feel the same. I've been a huge bitch to everyone, especially you and Seb." Bella apologized.

"Thank you. I can tell that you mean it." Edward thanked her.

"Do you think that there's any way for me to apologize to Seb? Or should I keep giving him space?" Bella asked.

"I think the wisest course of action would be to wait until this situation with Victoria is dealt with and over. He's very tense right now and Jasper's barely keeping him from snapping." Edward recommended.

"Okay, what about today? Is there anything I can do to help?" Bella inquired.

"Stay close to the Jeep. Sebastian told us that once he gets into training it'll be like he's a newborn with no control so he wants you to stay away so he doesn't come after you. So don't go near the clearing until he's calmed down. We'll be in between you two and the wolves will be here so it'll be harder for him to pick up your scent." Edward replied.

Bella nodded and stayed put. Eventually, the pack arrived in their wolf forms. Carlisle stood in front of them waiting for Edward to join him. He was very aware of what this training could bring about. He only hoped that Jasper and the rest of the family would be able to get Sebastian to calm down after they were done for the day. Edward reached Carlisle's side and turned to him saying:

"They don't trust us enough to be in their human forms." Edward translated.

"They're here, that's the important thing. Welcome, since we can't speak to one another Edward will translate." Carlisle said.

"They want to know what makes newborns so different and why it's necessary for Sebastian to be involved in this as a vampire." Edward translated.

"They're a great deal stronger than us and that is due to their human blood lingering in their tissues. Sebastian being here as a vampire is crucial since he has copied the enhancements of a newborn. We want to be able to show you how a newborn fights and how you can defeat them." Carlisle explained.

"They're wondering if there's anyone with experience in dealing with newborns." Edward asked for the pack.

"Yes, Jasper here has had the most experience with newborns. Jasper, if you will." Carlisle answered.
