10 when will you ask me out

it's been about a month and nothing has happened between me and leah. we've stopped hooking up.

things aren't weird between us but it feels like there is something in the air and nobody wants to make the first move.

i don't want anything to mess up between us because leah is my best friend. she's my favourite person ever in my life and i can't lose her no matter what.

i want to ask leah out but i don't feel ready. it's a huge commitment and i have a lot of fear of things becoming ruined.

we were both there for each other when our exs broke up with us. we were there when we were both feeling so much pain. we know how it feels and neither of us want that to happen ever again.

i know what i feel for leah. and i know that it's a forever kind of thing.

i don't really know what wavelength she's on because we haven't spoken about this.

today we have an away game against united.

i drove leah and alessia to the coach. i popped in both my airpods and we got onto it.

i sat with leah around the middle. she took the window seat and i took the aisle. katie and alessia sat opposite us.

leah took an airpod from my ear and put it in her own and then picked up my phone from the table.

"this is a shit playlist" she said as she unlocked my phone and changed the playlist to another.

the drive to manchester felt long. especially with leah ignoring me and playing her sudoku.

i never understood sudoku but ive been watching her for the past 2 hours and i think ive got it.

i saw her trying to flick to the back to find the answer.

"oi stop cheating" i said.

"you do it then if your so clever" she said handing me the book and pencil.

"that's a 9" i said pointing at one of the boxes.

she raised her eyebrow at me.

"oh my god check then if you don't believe me" i said giving the book back.

she flicked to the back and found the answers.

"well" i said.

"it's right" she admitted quietly.

"un-bloody-believable" i said shaking my head. "i told you it was"

"shush eve i bet you can't solve a whole one" she said.

"right hand it over then" i said.

i took the book from her and did another one, solving the puzzle in about 10 minutes.

"fuck off" she said in shock when i gave it back to her.

i laughed as she checked the answers to make sure ive got it right.

i had a little chat with katie and less and then rested my head on leah's shoulder.

i ended up falling asleep towards the end of the journey and was woken my katie throwing bits of paper at me.

"wakey wakey evelyn" she said. "we're here in 5"

"so wake me up in 5" i groaned as i turned my face into leah's neck.

she continued to throw things at me so i kicked her leg under the table.

"cut it out katie" leah said.

we arrived and leah gently woke me up. we got off the coach and walked into old trafford.

the match was soon upon us and we were ready. this will have a huge impact on the title race.
